A novel polymer film, poly(NAP‐2) was synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of 2‐naphthol. The polymer structure, elucidated by in situ multiple internal reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (MIRFTIRS) was confirmed by electron spin resonance spectroscopy. It consists of polymers P and oligomers Q. The P structure comprises alternate naphthylene and furan rings while the Q structure bears quinonoid groups in the chain.
