Real-time fire detection algorithms running on small embedded devices based on MobileNetV3 and YOLOv4
Abstract Aim Fires are a serious threat to people’s lives and property. Detecting fires quickly and effectively and extinguishing them in the nascent stage is an effective way to reduce fire hazards. Currently, deep learning-based fire detection algorithms are usually deployed on the PC side. Methods After migrating to small embedded devices, the accuracy and speed of recognition are degraded due to the lack of computing power. In this paper, we propose a real-time fire detection algorithm based on MobileNetV3-large and yolov4, replacing CSP Darknet53 in yolov4 with MobileNetV3-large to achieve the initial extraction of flame and smoke features while greatly reducing the computational effort of the network structure. A path connecting PANet was explored on Gbneck(104, 104, 24), while SPP was embedded in the path from MobileNetV3 to PANet to improve the feature extraction capability for small targets; the PANet in yolo4 was improved by combining the BiFPN path fusion method, and the improved PANet further improved the feature extraction capability; the Vision Transformer model is added to the backbone feature extraction network and PANet of the YOLOv4 model to give full play to the model’s multi-headed attention mechanism for pre-processing image features; adding ECA Net to the head network of yolo4 improves the overall recognition performance of the network. Result These algorithms run well on PC and reach 95.14% recognition accuracy on the public dataset BoWFire. Finally, these algorithms were migrated to the Jeston Xavier NX platform, and the entire network was quantized and accelerated with the TensorRT algorithm. With the image propagation function of the fire robot, the overall recognition frame rate can reach about 26.13 with high real-time performance while maintaining a high recognition accuracy. Conclusion Several comparative experiments have also validated the effectiveness of this paper’s improvements to the YOLOv4 algorithm and the superiority of these structures. With the effective integration of these components, the algorithm shows high accuracy and real-time performance.

High-Sensitivity Carbon Nanofibers/Graphene/Polydimethylsiloxane Flexible Pressure Sensor Based on a Hierarchical Structure with Enhanced Sensing Range
Achieving a high sensitivity of sensors over a wide linear range is crucial for practical applications. Introducing various micronano topologies is the most effective approach to enhance sensor sensitivity. Unfortunately, due to the size effect, the surface structure is prone to deformation and saturation under pressure, limiting sensitivity to a narrow range and hindering broader applications. Additionally, few of the recently developed sensors with wide sensing ranges have been able to achieve the high sensitivity levels provided by micronano topological structures. The achievement of an effective trade-off between high sensitivity and a wide sensing range still presents significant challenges. In this study, a versatile strategy is proposed to design a high-sensitivity flexible pressure sensor with an improved sensing range. A cost-effective and adjustable wire mesh is utilized to introduce microstructures while constructing a hierarchically reinforced structure, effectively combining porous and surface microstructures. Hybrid carbon nanofibers and graphene serve as conductive materials to further enhance the performance. The sensor demonstrates a high sensitivity of −1.12 kPa–1 and extends the sensing range to nearly 3.9 times (0–853 Pa) compared to sensors with only microstructures (0–220 Pa). Moreover, it exhibits a response speed comparable to that of the human body (26 and 33 ms) and a high durability (4000 cycles). The sensor showcases excellent signal response to high-pressure movements (finger bending and wrist bending) and low-pressure breathing movements, holding promising potential for motion monitoring and information encryption applications.

Inter-annual change of the drought limit water level of a reservoir based on system dynamics
Abstract Drought is one of the major natural disasters affecting the development of economies and society. Drought early warning is the primary step and most important non-engineering measure for drought relief. This paper took Yuqiao Reservoir in Tianjin as a case study and analysed inter-annual changes of the drought limit water level. First, the causality between variables in the water supply–demand system was analysed, and a structural diagram of water sources allocation was drawn. Coupled with the parameters and a structural diagram, a system dynamics (SD) model of the water supply volume was established. Secondly, simulation results were tested to ensure that the model was valid. The water supply volume from 2003 to 2020 was simulated by using the model. Finally, based on the inflow process and the water supply volume, the drought limit water level was calculated. The results showed the water supply volume of Yuqiao Reservoir has changed remarkably. The drought limit water levels in 2003–2012 and in 2016–2020 were 16.70 m and 16.30 m, respectively: a difference of 0.40 m. The regulation curve of guarantee for water supply during 2016–2020 is significantly lower than that of 2003–2012. This research is of great significance for drought resistance, disaster mitigation and reservoir management.

The bioarchaeology of infant feeding
Much of the research on the bioarchaeology of infant feeding is interpreted solely as the result of the availability of suitable weaning foods and “weaning stress,” which largely overlooks the individual and social factors involved in food allocation and the weaning process. The focus on the impact of subsistence change and “weaning stress” has understandably been a preoccupation in bioarchaeology given its effects on women’s fertility and its relationship with the “Neolithic demographic transition,” and bioarchaeologists’ interest in health-related effects of infant feeding practices. However, this focus largely ignores individual agency and a myriad of other social factors that can affect breastfeeding and weaning practices. This chapter reviews bioarchaeological research on infant feeding methods and approaches, with a focus on chemical isotopic analyses of bones and teeth, which highlights the complex and individual stories of infant feeding, weaning, and the relationship between maternal and infant health. We present a case study from two archaeological sites during the Eastern Zhou Dynasty in China that shows sex-based differences in infant feeding and weaning. This highlights the importance of the consideration of aspects of social identity, the life-course, and cultural factors in the interpretation of infant feeding in the past.

Latest achievement in IPO theory study
The big contrast between the short-term income and long-term return of stock IPO has attracted the attention of researchers in recent years. The causes of IPO are the market environment and life cycle of the company. The unsymmetry theory can explain the phenomenon of price constraints, however, it is challenged by the irrational operation and differences and changes in policies. The stock disposition theory is drawing much attention due to its multi-facet effects. The most disputable aspect of stock is the disappointing outcomes of the long-term return after the stock is put on market for the first time. It is proposed that a solution to this problem is to improve the micro-structure of stock market.
