A standard format for Les Houches Event Files
A standard file format is proposed to store process and event information, primarily output from parton-level event generators for further use by general-purpose ones. The information content is identical with what was already defined by the Les Houches Accord five years ago, but then in terms of Fortran commonblocks. This information is embedded in a minimal XML-style structure, for clarity and to simplify parsing.

Observation of Single Top-Quark Production
We report observation of the electroweak production of single top quarks in pp[over ] collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV based on 2.3 fb(-1) of data collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Using events containing an isolated electron or muon and missing transverse energy, together with jets originating from the fragmentation of b quarks, we measure a cross section of sigma(pp[over ]--> tb + X, tqb + X) = 3.94 + or - 0.88 pb. The probability to measure a cross section at this value or higher in the absence of signal is 2.5 x 10(-7), corresponding to a 5.0 standard deviation significance for the observation.

Evidence for a Particle Produced in Association with Weak Bosons and Decaying to a Bottom-Antibottom Quark Pair in Higgs Boson Searches at the Tevatron
We combine searches by the CDF and D0 Collaborations for the associated production of a Higgs boson with a W or Z boson and subsequent decay of the Higgs boson to a bottom-antibottom quark pair. The data, originating from Fermilab Tevatron pp collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV, correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb(-1). The searches are conducted for a Higgs boson with mass in the range 100-150 GeV/c(2). We observe an excess of events in the data compared with the background predictions, which is most significant in the mass range between 120 and 135 GeV/c(2). The largest local significance is 3.3 standard deviations, corresponding to a global significance of 3.1 standard deviations. We interpret this as evidence for the presence of a new particle consistent with the standard model Higgs boson, which is produced in association with a weak vector boson and decays to a bottom-antibottom quark pair.

We have used a sample of photon+3 jets events collected by the D0 experiment with an integrated luminosity of about 1 fb^-1 to determine the fraction of events with double parton scattering (f_DP) in a single ppbar collision at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV. The DP fraction and effective cross section (sigma_eff), a process-independent scale parameter related to the parton density inside the nucleon, are measured in three intervals of the second (ordered in pT) jet transverse momentum pT_jet2 within the range 15 < pT_jet2 < 30 GeV. In this range, f_DP varies between 0.23 < f_DP < 0.47, while sigma_eff has the average value sigma_eff_ave = 16.4 +- 0.3(stat) +- 2.3(syst) mb.

Combination of the top-quark mass measurements from the Tevatron collider
The top quark is the heaviest known elementary particle, with a mass about 40 times larger than the mass of its isospin partner, the bottom quark. It decays almost 100% of the time to a $W$ boson and a bottom quark. Using top-antitop pairs at the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider, the CDF and D0 Collaborations have measured the top quark's mass in different final states for integrated luminosities of up to $5.8\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$. This paper reports on a combination of these measurements that results in a more precise value of the mass than any individual decay channel can provide. It describes the treatment of the systematic uncertainties and their correlations. The mass value determined is $173.18\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.56\text{ }(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.75\text{ }(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$ or $173.18\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.94\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$, which has a precision of $\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.54%$, making this the most precise determination of the top-quark mass.

Search for charged Higgs bosons in top quark decays
We present a search for charged Higgs bosons in top quark decays. We analyze the \eplus, \muplus, $ee$, $e\mu$, $\mu\mu$, \etau and \mutau final states from top quark pair production events, using data from about 1${\text{fb}}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity recorded by the \dzero experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We consider different scenarios of possible charged Higgs boson decays, one where the charged Higgs boson decays purely hadronically into a charm and a strange quark, another where it decays into a $\tau$ lepton and a $\tau$ neutrino and a third one where both decays appear. We extract limits on the branching ratio $B(t\to H^+ b)$ for all these models. We use two methods, one where the $t\bar{t}$ production cross section is fixed, and one where the cross section is fitted simultaneously with $B(t\to H^+b)$. Based on the extracted limits, we exclude regions in the charged Higgs boson mass and $\tan \beta$ parameter space for different scenarios of the minimal supersymmetric standard model.

We present an updated measurement of the anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry Aslb for semi-leptonic $b$-hadron decays in 9.0 fb^-1 of p pbar collisions recorded with the D0 detector at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We obtain Aslb = (-0.787 +- 0.172(stat) +- 0.093 (syst))%. This result differs by 3.9 standard deviations from the prediction of the standard model and provides evidence for anomalously large CP violation in semi-leptonic neutral B decay. The dependence of the asymmetry on the muon impact parameter is consistent with the hypothesis that it originates from semi-leptonic b-hadron decays.

Higgs boson studies at the Tevatron
We combine searches by the CDF and D0 Collaborations for the standard model Higgs boson with mass in the range 90–200 GeV/c2 produced in the gluon-gluon fusion, WH, ZH, t¯tH, and vector boson fusion processes, and decaying in the H→b¯b, H→W+W−, H→ZZ, H→τ+τ−, and H→γγ modes. The data correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 10 fb−1 and were collected at the Fermilab Tevatron in p¯p collisions at √s=1.96 TeV. The searches are also interpreted in the context of fermiophobic and fourth generation models. We observe a significant excess of events in the mass range between 115 and 140 GeV/c2. The local significance corresponds to 3.0 standard deviations at mH=125 GeV/c2, consistent with the mass of the Higgs boson observed at the LHC, and we expect a local significance of 1.9 standard deviations. We separately combine searches for H→b¯b, H→W+W−, H→τ+τ−, and H→γγ. The observed signal strengths in all channels are consistent with the presence of a standard model Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV/c2.18 MoreReceived 26 March 2013DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.88.052014© 2013 American Physical Society

We describe an analysis comparing the $p\overline{p}$ elastic cross section as measured by the D0 Collaboration at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV to that in $pp$ collisions as measured by the TOTEM Collaboration at 2.76, 7, 8, and 13 TeV using a model-independent approach. The TOTEM cross sections, extrapolated to a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$, are compared with the D0 measurement in the region of the diffractive minimum and the second maximum of the $pp$ cross section. The two data sets disagree at the $3.4\ensuremath{\sigma}$ level and thus provide evidence for the $t$-channel exchange of a colorless, $C$-odd gluonic compound, also known as the odderon. We combine these results with a TOTEM analysis of the same $C$-odd exchange based on the total cross section and the ratio of the real to imaginary parts of the forward elastic strong interaction scattering amplitude in $pp$ scattering for which the significance is between $3.4\ensuremath{\sigma}$ and $4.6\ensuremath{\sigma}$. The combined significance is larger than $5\ensuremath{\sigma}$ and is interpreted as the first observation of the exchange of a colorless, $C$-odd gluonic compound.

We combine measurements of the top quark pair production cross section in p¯p collisions in the ℓ+jets, ℓℓ, and τℓ final states (where ℓ is an electron or muon) at a center of mass energy of √s=1.96 TeV in 1 fb−1 of data collected with the D0 detector. For a top quark mass of 170 GeV/c2, we obtain σt¯t=8.18+0.98−0.87 pb in agreement with the theoretical prediction. Based on predictions from higher order quantum chromodynamics, we extract a mass for the top quark from the combined t¯t cross section, consistent with the world average of the top quark mass. In addition, the ratios of t¯t cross sections in different final states are used to set upper limits on the branching fractions B(t→H+b→τ+νb) and B(t→H+b→c¯sb) as a function of the charged Higgs boson mass.Received 31 March 2009DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.80.071102©2009 American Physical Society

We present the results of a search for the flavor changing neutral current decay B_s^0->mu^+mu^- using 6.1 fb^-1 of ppbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The observed number of B_s^0 candidates is consistent with background expectations. The resulting upper limit on the branching fraction is BR(B_s^0->mu^+mu^-) < 5.1 x 10^-8 at the 95% C.L. This limit is a factor of 2.4 better than that of the previous D0 analysis and the best limit to date.

Improved determination of the width of the top quark
We present an improved determination of the total width of the top quark, $Γ_t$, using 5.4 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 Collaboration at the Tevatron $p\bar{p}$ Collider. The total width $Γ_t$ is extracted from the partial decay width $Γ(t\to Wb)$ and the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(t\to Wb)$. $Γ(t\to Wb)$ is obtained from the $t$-channel single top quark production cross section and $\mathcal{B}(t\to Wb)$ is measured in $t\bar{t}$ events. For a top mass of $172.5\;\rm GeV$, the resulting width is $Γ_t = 2.00^{+0.47}_{-0.43}$ GeV. This translates to a top-quark lifetime of $τ_t = (3.29^{+0.90}_{-0.63})\times10^{-25}$ s. We also extract an improved direct limit on the CKM matrix element $0.81 < |V_{tb}| \leq 1$ at 95% C.L. and a limit of $|V_{tb'}| < 0.59$ for a high mass fourth generation bottom quark assuming unitarity of the fourth generation quark mixing matrix.

We present the observation of doubly-produced $J/\psi$ mesons with the D0 detector at Fermilab in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV. The production cross section for both singly and doubly-produced $J/\psi$ mesons is measured using a sample with an integrated luminosity of 8.1fb$^{-1}$. For the first time, the double $J/\psi$ production cross section is separated into contributions due to single and double parton scatterings. Using these measurements, we determine the effective cross section $\sigma_{eff}$, a parameter characterizing an effective spatial area of the parton-parton interactions and related to the parton spatial density inside the nucleon.

Search for associated production of charginos and neutralinos in the trilepton final state using 2.3 fb−1 of data
We report the results of a search for associated production of charginos and neutralinos using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3 fb−1 collected with the DØ experiment during Run II of the Tevatron proton–antiproton collider. Final states containing three charged leptons and missing transverse energy are probed for a signal from supersymmetry with four dedicated trilepton event selections. No evidence for a signal is observed, and we set limits on the product of production cross section and leptonic branching fraction. Within minimal supergravity, these limits translate into bounds on m0 and m1/2 that are well beyond existing limits.

We present a measurement of the elastic differential cross section $d\ensuremath{\sigma}(p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p})/dt$ as a function of the four-momentum-transfer squared $t$. Using 7.3 pb-1 of ppbar collisions collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron, we measure the distribution of the variable \phistar, which probes the same physical effects as the Z/gamma* boson transverse momentum, but is less susceptible to the effects of experimental resolution and efficiency. A QCD prediction is found to describe the general features of the \phistar distribution, but is unable to describe its detailed shape or dependence on boson rapidity. A prediction that includes a broadening of transverse momentum for small values of the parton momentum fraction is strongly disfavored.

We present a measurement of the semileptonic mixing asymmetry for ${B}^{0}$ mesons, ${a}_{\mathrm{sl}}^{d}$, using two independent decay channels: ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{D}^{\ensuremath{-}}X$, with ${D}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$; and ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{D}^{*\ensuremath{-}}X$, with ${D}^{*\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{D}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, ${\overline{D}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ (and charge conjugate processes). We use a data sample corresponding to $10.4\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of $p\overline{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$, collected with the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We extract the charge asymmetries in these two channels as a function of the visible proper decay length of the ${B}^{0}$ meson, correct for detector-related asymmetries using data-driven methods, and account for dilution from charge-symmetric processes using Monte Carlo simulation. The final measurement combines four signal visible proper decay length regions for each channel, yielding ${a}_{\mathrm{sl}}^{d}=[0.68\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.45(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.14(\mathrm{syst})]%$. This is the single most precise measurement of this parameter, with uncertainties smaller than the current world average of $B$ factory measurements.

Tevatron Run II combination of the effective leptonic electroweak mixing angle
Drell-Yan lepton pairs produced in the process $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{\ensuremath{-}}+X$ through an intermediate ${\ensuremath{\gamma}}^{*}/Z$ boson have an asymmetry in their angular distribution related to the spontaneous symmetry breaking of the electroweak force and the associated mixing of its neutral gauge bosons. The CDF and D0 experiments have measured the effective-leptonic electroweak mixing parameter ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\mathrm{eff}}^{\mathrm{lept}}$ using electron and muon pairs selected from the full Tevatron proton-antiproton data sets collected in 2001-2011, corresponding to $9--10\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of integrated luminosity. The combination of these measurements yields the most precise result from hadron colliders, ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\mathrm{eff}}^{\mathrm{lept}}=0.23148\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.00033$. This result is consistent with, and approaches in precision, the best measurements from electron-positron colliders. The standard model inference of the on-shell electroweak mixing parameter ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{W}$, or equivalently the $W$-boson mass ${M}_{W}$, using the zfitter software package yields ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{W}=0.22324\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.00033$ or equivalently, ${M}_{W}=80.367\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.017\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/{c}^{2}$.

Single top quark at future hadron colliders: Complete signal and background study
We perform a detailed theoretical study including decays and jet fragmentation of all the important modes of single top quark production and all the basic background processes at the upgraded Fermilab Tevatron and CERN LHC colliders. Special attention is paid to the complete tree level calculation of the QCD fake background which was not considered in previous studies. An analysis of the various kinematical distributions for the signal and backgrounds allow us to work out a set of cuts for an efficient background suppression and extraction of the signal. It is shown that the signal to background ratio after optimized cuts could reach about 0.4 at the Tevatron and 1 at the LHC. The remaining after cuts signal rate at the LHC for the lepton+jets signature is expected to be about 6.1 pb and will be enough to study single top quark physics even during LHC operation at a low luminosity.

We present a measurement of the electron charge asymmetry in pp[over ]-->W+X-->enu+X events at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV using 0.75 fb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The asymmetry is measured as a function of the electron transverse momentum and pseudorapidity in the interval (-3.2, 3.2) and is compared with expectations from next-to-leading order calculations in perturbative quantum chromodynamics. These measurements will allow more accurate determinations of the proton parton distribution functions.

We present new measurements of differential cross sections for Z/γ∗(→μμ)+jet+X production in a 1 fb−1 data sample collected with the DØ detector in pp¯ collisions at s=1.96TeV. Results include the first measurements differential in the Z/γ∗ transverse momentum and rapidity, as well as new measurements differential in the leading jet transverse momentum and rapidity. Next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions are compared to the measurements, and reasonable agreement is observed, except in the region of low Z/γ∗ transverse momentum. Predictions from two event generators based on matrix elements and parton showers, and one pure parton shower event generator are also compared to the measurements. These show significant overall normalization differences to the data and have varied success in describing the shape of the distributions.

We present a measurement of direct photon pair production cross sections using 4.2 fb-1 of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron proton-antiproton Collider. We measure single differential cross sections as a function of the diphoton mass, the transverse momentum of the diphoton system, the azimuthal angle between the photons, and the polar scattering angle of the photons, as well as the double differential cross sections considering the last three kinematic variables in three diphoton mass bins. The results are compared with different perturbative QCD predictions and event generators.

We present a study of the polarization of the Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) states using a 1.3 fb−1 data sample collected by the D0 experiment in 2002–2006 during run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We measure the polarization parameter α=(σT−2σL)/(σT+2σL), where σT and σL are the transversely and longitudinally polarized components of the production cross section, as a function of the transverse momentum (pΥT) for the Υ(1S) and Υ(2S). Significant pΥT-dependent longitudinal polarization is observed for the Υ(1S). Search for Long-Lived Charged Massive Particles with the D0 Detector
We search for long-lived charged massive particles using $1.1\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron $p\overline{p}$ Collider. Time-of-flight information is used to search for pair produced long-lived tau sleptons, gauginolike charginos, and Higgsino-like charginos. We find no evidence of a signal and set 95% C.L. cross section upper limits for staus, which vary from 0.31 to 0.04 pb for stau masses between 60 and 300 GeV. We also set lower mass limits of 206 GeV (171 GeV) for pair produced charged gauginos (Higgsinos).

We present a new measurement of the Z/γ∗ transverse momentum distribution in the range 0–330 GeV, in proton–antiproton collisions at s=1.96TeV. The measurement uses 0.97 fb−1 of integrated luminosity recorded by the D0 experiment and is the first using the Z/γ∗→μ+μ−+X channel at this center-of-mass energy. This is also the first measurement of the Z/γ∗ transverse momentum distribution that presents the result at the level of particles entering the detector, minimizing dependence on theoretical models. As any momentum of the Z/γ∗ in the plane transverse to the incoming beams must be balanced by some recoiling system, primarily the result of QCD radiation in the initial state, this variable is an excellent probe of the underlying process. Tests of the predictions of QCD calculations and current event generators show they have varied success in describing the data. Using this measurement as an input to theoretical predictions will allow for a better description of hadron collider data and hence it will increase experimental sensitivity to rare signals.

We present a search for the production of a heavy gauge boson, W′, that decays to third-generation quarks, by D0 Collaboration in pp¯ collisions at s=1.96TeV. We set 95% confidence level upper limits on the production cross section times branching fraction. For the first time, we set limits for arbitrary combinations of left- and right-handed couplings of the W′ boson to fermions. For couplings with the same strength as for the standard model W boson, we set the following limits, assuming that there are right-handed neutrinos νR for all three generations with M(W′)>m(νR): M(W′)>863GeV for purely left-handed couplings, M(W′)>885GeV for purely right-handed couplings, and M(W′)>916GeV if both left- and right-handed couplings are present. The limit for right-handed couplings improves for M(W′)<m(νR) to M(W′)>890GeV.

Precision Measurement of the RatioB(t→Wb)/B(t→Wq)and Extraction ofVtb
We present a measurement of the ratio of top quark branching fractions R = B(t -> Wb)/B(t -> Wq), where q can be a d, s or b quark, in the lepton+jets and dilepton ttbar final states. The measurement uses data from 5.4 fb-1 of ppbar collisions collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We measure R = 0.90 +/- 0.04, and we extract the CKM matrix element |Vtb| as |Vtb| = 0.95 +/- 0.02, assuming unitarity of the 3x3 CKM matrix.

Using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.3 fb^-1, we observe a narrow mass state decaying into Upsilon(1S)+gamma, where the Upsilon(1S) meson is detected by its decay into a pair of oppositely charged muons, and the photon is identified through its conversion into an electron-positron pair. The significance of this observation is 5.6 standard deviations. The mass of the state is centered at 10.551 \pm 0.014 (stat.) \pm 0.017 (syst.) GeV/c^2, which is consistent with that of the state recently observed by the ATLAS Collaboration.

We present a comprehensive analysis of inclusive W(\to e\nu)+n-jet (n\geq 1,2,3,4) production in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV at the Tevatron collider using a 3.7 fb^{-1} dataset collected by the D0 detector. Differential cross sections are presented as a function of the jet rapidities (y), lepton transverse momentum (p_T) and pseudorapidity (\eta), the scalar sum of the transverse energies of the W boson and all jets (H_T), leading dijet p_T and invariant mass, dijet rapidity separations for a variety of jet pairings for p_T-ordered and angular-ordered jets, dijet opening angle, dijet azimuthal angular separations for p_T-ordered and angular-ordered jets, and W boson transverse momentum. The mean number of jets in an event containing a W boson is measured as a function of H_T, and as a function of the rapidity separations between the two highest-p_T jets and between the most widely separated jets in rapidity. Finally, the probability for third-jet emission in events containing a W boson and at least two jets is studied by measuring the fraction of events in the inclusive W+2-jet sample that contain a third jet over a p_T threshold. The analysis employs a regularized singular value decomposition technique to accurately correct for detector effects and for the presence of backgrounds. The corrected data are compared to particle level next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions, predictions from all-order resummation approaches, and a variety of leading-order and matrix-element plus parton-shower event generators. Regions of the phase space where there is agreement or disagreement with the data are discussed for the different models tested.

We present a study of the inclusive production of the X(4140) state with the decay to the J/ψϕ final state in hadronic collisions. Based on 10.4 fb^{-1} of pp[over ¯] collision data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider, we report the first evidence for the prompt production of an X(4140) state and find the fraction of X(4140) events originating from b hadrons to be f_{b}=0.39±0.07(stat)±0.10(syst). We present searches for the anomalous γWW and ZWW trilinear gauge boson couplings from WW and WZ production using lepton plus dijet final states and a combination with results from Wγ, WW, and WZ production with leptonic final states. The analyzed data correspond to up to 8.6fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 detector in pp¯ collisions at s=1.96TeV. We set the most stringent limits at a hadron collider to date assuming two different relations between the anomalous coupling parameters Δκγ, λ, and Δg1Z for a cutoff energy scale Λ=2TeV. The combined 68% C.L. limits are −0.057<Δκγ<0.154, −0.015<λ<0.028, and −0.008<Δg1Z<0.054 for the LEP parameterization, and −0.007<Δκ<0.081 and −0.017<λ<0.028 for the equal couplings parameterization. We also present the most stringent limits of the W boson magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments.

We present measurements of the differential cross section dσ/dpTγ for the inclusive production of a photon in association with a b-quark jet for photons with rapidities |yγ|<1.0 and 30<pTγ<300GeV, as well as for photons with 1.5<|yγ|<2.5 and 30<pTγ<200GeV, where pTγ is the photon transverse momentum. The b-quark jets are required to have pT>15GeV and rapidity |yjet|<1.5. The results are based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 8.7 fb−1, recorded with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp¯ Collider at s=1.96TeV. The measured cross sections are compared with next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations using different sets of parton distribution functions as well as to predictions based on the kT-factorization QCD approach, and those from the sherpa and pythia Monte Carlo event generators.

We present a measurement of the relative branching fraction, ${R}_{{f}_{0}/\ensuremath{\phi}}$, of ${B}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}{f}_{0}(980)$, with ${f}_{0}(980)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, to the process ${B}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\phi}$, with $\ensuremath{\phi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. The $J/\ensuremath{\psi}{f}_{0}(980)$ final state corresponds to a $CP$-odd eigenstate of ${B}_{s}^{0}$ that could be of interest in future studies of $CP$ violation. Measurement of Spin Correlation intt¯Production Using a Matrix Element Approach
We determine the fraction of tt events with spin correlation, assuming that the spin of the top quark is either correlated with the spin of the top antiquark as predicted by the standard model or is uncorrelated. For the first time we use a matrix-element-based approach to study tt spin correlation. We use tt → W+ b W- b → ℓ+ νbℓ- ν b final states produced in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV, where ℓ denotes an electron or a muon. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb(-1) and were collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The result agrees with the standard model prediction. We exclude the hypothesis that the spins of the tt are uncorrelated at the 97.7% C.L.

We present a measurement of the cross section for W boson production in association with at least one b-quark jet in proton–antiproton collisions. The measurement is made using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.1fb−1 recorded with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp¯ Collider at s=1.96TeV. We measure an inclusive cross section of σ(W(→μν)+b+X)=1.04±0.05(stat.)±0.12(syst.) pb and σ(W(→eν)+b+X)=1.00±0.04(stat.)±0.12(syst.) pb in the phase space defined by pTν>25GeV, pTb-jet>20GeV, |ηb-jet|<1.1, and a muon (electron) with pTℓ>20GeV and |ημ|<1.7 (|ηe|<1.1 or 1.5<|ηe|<2.5). The combined result per lepton family is σ(W(→ℓν)+b+X)=1.05±0.12(stat.+syst.)pb for |ηℓ|<1.7. The results are in agreement with predictions from next-to-leading order QCD calculations using mcfm, σ(W+b)⋅B(W→ℓν)=1.34−0.34+0.41(syst.)pb, and also with predictions from the sherpa and madgraph Monte Carlo event generators.

Search for Violation of Lorentz Invariance in Top Quark Pair Production and Decay
Using data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, corresponding to 5.3 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity, we search for violation of Lorentz invariance by examining the tt[over ¯] production cross section in lepton+jets final states. We quantify this violation using the standard-model extension framework, which predicts a dependence of the tt[over ¯] production cross section on sidereal time as the orientation of the detector changes with the rotation of the Earth. Within this framework, we measure components of the matrices (c(Q))(μν33) and (c(U))(μν33) containing coefficients used to parametrize violation of Lorentz invariance in the top quark sector. Within uncertainties, these coefficients are found to be consistent with zero.

We combine results from searches by the CDF and D0 collaborations for a standard model Higgs boson (H) in the process gg->H->W+W- in p=pbar collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV. With 4.8 fb-1 of integrated luminosity analyzed at CDF and 5.4 fb-1 at D0, the 95% Confidence Level upper limit on \sigma(gg->H) x B(H->W+W-) is 1.75 pb at m_H=120 GeV, 0.38 pb at m_H=165 GeV, and 0.83 pb at m_H=200 GeV. Assuming the presence of a fourth sequential generation of fermions with large masses, we exclude at the 95% Confidence Level a standard-model-like Higgs boson with a mass between 131 and 204 GeV.

We present the first measurements at a hadron collider of differential cross sections for Z/γ∗+jet+X production in Δϕ(Z,jet), |Δy(Z,jet)| and |yboost(Z+jet)|. Vector boson production in association with jets is an excellent probe of QCD and constitutes the main background to many small cross section processes, such as associated Higgs production. These measurements are crucial tests of the predictions of perturbative QCD and current event generators, which have varied success in describing the data. Using these measurements as inputs in tuning event generators will increase the experimental sensitivity to rare signals.

We present a search for pair production of a fourth generation t' quark and its antiparticle, followed by their decays to a W boson and a jet, based on an integrated luminosity of 5.3 fb(-1) of proton-antiproton collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV collected by the D0 Collaboration at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We set upper limits on the t' ̄t' production cross section that exclude at the 95% C.L. a t' quark that decays exclusively to W+jet with a mass below 285 GeV. We observe a small excess in the μ+jets channel which reduces the mass range excluded compared to the expected limit of 320 GeV in the absence of a signal.

We present measurements of direct photon pair production cross sections using 8.5 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron $p \bar p$ collider. The results are presented as differential distributions of the photon pair invariant mass $d\sigma/dM_{\gamma \gamma}$, pair transverse momentum $d \sigma /dp^{\gamma \gamma}_T$, azimuthal angle between the photons $d\sigma/d\Delta \phi_{\gamma \gamma}$, and polar scattering angle in the Collins-Soper frame $d\sigma /d|\cos \theta^*|$. Measurements are performed for isolated photons with transverse momenta $p^{\gamma}_T>18 ~(17)$ GeV for the leading (next-to-leading) photon in $p_T$, pseudorapidities $|\eta^{\gamma}|<0.9$, and a separation in $\eta-\phi$ space $\Delta\mathcal R_{\gamma\gamma} > 0.4$. We present comparisons with the predictions from Monte Carlo event generators {\sc diphox} and {\sc resbos} implementing QCD calculations at next-to-leading order, $2\gamma${\sc nnlo} at next-to-next-to-leading order, and {\sc sherpa} using matrix elements with higher-order real emissions matched to parton shower.

Higgs boson signal at complete tree level in the SM extension by dimension-six operators
Deviations from the standard Higgs sector generated by some new (nonstandard) physics at an energy scale $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}$ could be described by effective $\mathrm{SU}{(3)}_{c}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}\mathrm{SU}{(2)}_{L}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}\mathrm{U}(1)$ invariant nonrenormalizable Lagrangian terms of dimension six. The set of dimension-six operators involving the Higgs field is chosen in such a way that the form of the gauge boson kinetic terms remains untouched, preserving all high-precision electroweak constraints. A systematic study of effects in various Higgs boson production channels ($\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$, $ZZ$, $WW$, $b\overline{b}$, $\ensuremath{\tau}\overline{\ensuremath{\tau}}$) caused by effective operators is carried out beyond the $\text{production}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}\text{decay}$ approximation (or infinitely small width approximation). Statistical methods are used to establish the consistency of the standard Higgs sector with the available LHC data. A global fit in the two-parametric anomalous coupling space indicating possible deviations from the standard Higgs-fermion and Higgs-gauge boson couplings is performed, using post-Moriond 2012 data and more precise LC2013 data. We find that the standard Higgs sector is consistent with the current CMS and ATLAS experimental results both in the infinitely small width approximation and the calculation with complete gauge-invariant sets of diagrams. However, a visible difference between the exclusion contours is found for some combinations of production and decay channels, although it is minor for the global fits for all possible channels. Updates of the signal strength and the signal strength error reported at LC2013 result in significant improvements of the allowed regions in the anomalous coupling space, which are also recalculated at complete tree level.

Muon reconstruction and identification with the Run II D0 detector
We present an overview of the muon reconstruction and identification methods employed by the D0 collaboration to analyze the Run II (2001–2011) pp¯ data of the Fermilab Tevatron collider at s=1.96TeV. We discuss the performance of these methods, how it is measured using D0 data, and how it is properly modeled by the D0 simulation program. In its pseudorapidity acceptance, |η|<2, the muon system identifies high-pT muons (pT≳10GeV) with efficiencies ranging from 72% to 89%. Muons tracks are reconstructed in the D0 central tracking system with efficiencies ranging from 85% to 92% and with a typical relative momentum resolution of 10% for pT=40GeV. Isolation criteria reject multijet background with efficiencies of 87–99%.

Jet energy scale determination in the D0 experiment
The calibration of jet energy measured in the D0 detector is presented, based on pp¯ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. Jet energies are measured using a sampling calorimeter composed of uranium and liquid argon as the passive and active media, respectively. This paper describes the energy calibration of jets performed with γ+jet, Z+jet and dijet events, with jet transverse momentum pT>6GeV and pseudorapidity range |η|<3.6. The corrections are measured separately for data and simulation, achieving a precision of 1.4–1.8% for jets in the central part of the calorimeter and up to 3.5% for the jets with pseudorapidity |η|=3.0. Specific corrections are extracted to enhance the description of jet energy in simulation and in particular of the effects due to the flavor of the parton originating the jet, correcting biases up to 3–4% in jets with low pT originating from gluons and up to 6–8% in jets from b quarks.

In the absence of light Higgs bosons, the $W$ and $Z$ bosons become strongly interacting particles at energies of about 1 TeV. If the longitudinal $W,Z$ components are generated by Goldstone modes associated with spontaneous symmetry breaking in a new strong interaction theory, the quasi-elastic $W,Z$ scattering amplitudes can be predicted as a systematic chiral expansion in the energy. We study the potential of TeV ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ and ${e}^{\ensuremath{-}}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ linear colliders in investigating these scattering processes. We estimate the accuracy with which the coefficients of the chiral expansion can be measured in a multi-parameter analysis. The measurements will provide us with a quantitative test of the dynamics underlying the $W,Z$ interactions.

Physics at the CLIC multi-TeV linear collider
This report summarizes a study of the physics potential of the CLIC e+e- linear collider operating at centre-of-mass energies from 1 TeV to 5 TeV with luminosity of the order of 10^35 cm^-2 s^-1. First, the CLIC collider complex is surveyed, with emphasis on aspects related to its physics capabilities, particularly the luminosity and energy, and also possible polarization, \gamma\gamma and e-e- collisions. The next CLIC Test facility, CTF3, and its R&D programme are also reviewed. We then discuss aspects of experimentation at CLIC, including backgrounds and experimental conditions, and present a conceptual detector design used in the physics analyses, most of which use the nominal CLIC centre-of-mass energy of 3 TeV. CLIC contributions to Higgs physics could include completing the profile of a light Higgs boson by measuring rare decays and reconstructing the Higgs potential, or discovering one or more heavy Higgs bosons, or probing CP violation in the Higgs sector. Turning to physics beyond the Standard Model, CLIC might be able to complete the supersymmetric spectrum and make more precise measurements of sparticles detected previously at the LHC or a lower-energy linear e+e- collider: \gamma\gamma collisions and polarization would be particularly useful for these tasks. CLIC would also have unique capabilities for probing other possible extensions of the Standard Model, such as theories with extra dimensions or new vector resonances, new contact interactions and models with strong WW scattering at high energies. In all the scenarios we have studied, CLIC would provide significant fundamental physics information beyond that available from the LHC and a lower-energy linear e+e- collider, as a result of its unique combination of high energy and experimental precision.

Search for Resonant Diphoton Production with the D0 Detector
We present a search for a narrow resonance in the inclusive diphoton final state using approximately 2.7 fb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp Collider. We observe good agreement between the data and the background prediction, and set the first 95% C.L. upper limits on the production cross section times the branching ratio for decay into a pair of photons for resonance masses between 100 and 150 GeV. This search is also interpreted in the context of several models of electroweak symmetry breaking with a Higgs boson decaying into two photons.

The process pp¯→γ+jet+X is studied using 1.0 fb−1 of data collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp¯ collider at a center-of-mass energy s=1.96TeV. Photons are reconstructed in the central rapidity region |yγ|<1.0 with transverse momenta in the range 30<pTγ<400GeV while jets are reconstructed in either the central |yjet|<0.8 or forward 1.5<|yjet|<2.5 rapidity intervals with pTjet>15GeV. The differential cross section d3σ/dpTγdyγdyjet is measured as a function of pTγ in four regions, differing by the relative orientations of the photon and the jet in rapidity. Ratios between the differential cross sections in each region are also presented. Next-to-leading order QCD predictions using different parameterizations of parton distribution functions and theoretical scale choices are compared to the data. The predictions do not simultaneously describe the measured normalization and pTγ dependence of the cross section in the four measured regions.

We have performed a search for $CP$ violation in a sample of ${B}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{D}_{s}^{\ensuremath{-}}X$ decays corresponding to $5\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of proton-antiproton collisions collected by the D0 detector in Run II at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. New physics in ${B}_{s}^{0}$ mixing could contribute a significant $CP$ violating weak phase, which would be observed as a difference in the decay-time distribution for ${B}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{B}}_{s}^{0}$ oscillated states versus that for ${\overline{B}}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{B}_{s}^{0}$. A fit to the decay-time distributions of the ${B}_{s}^{0}/{\overline{B}}_{s}^{0}$ candidates yields the flavor-specific asymmetry ${a}_{\mathrm{fs}}^{s}=[\ensuremath{-}1.7\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}9.1(\mathrm{stat}{)}_{\ensuremath{-}1.5}^{+1.4}(\mathrm{syst})]\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$, which excludes $CP$ violation due to new physics within the experimental sensitivity.

Search for Doubly Charged Higgs Boson Pair Production inpp¯Collisions ats=1.96 TeV
We present a search for pair production of doubly charged Higgs bosons in the processes $q\overline{q}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{H}^{++}{H}^{--}$ decaying through ${H}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}},{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}},{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$. The search is performed in $p\overline{p}$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$ using an integrated luminosity of up to $7.0\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The results are used to set 95% C.L. limits on the pair production cross section of doubly charged Higgs bosons and on their mass for different ${H}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ branching fractions. Models predicting different ${H}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ decays are investigated. Precise Measurement of the Top Quark Mass in the Dilepton Channel at D0
We measure the top quark mass (mt) in ppbar collisions at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV using dilepton ttbar->W+bW-bbar->l+nubl-nubarbbar events, where l denotes an electron, a muon, or a tau that decays leptonically. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb-1 collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We obtain mt = 174.0 +- 1.8(stat) +- 2.4(syst) GeV, which is in agreement with the current world average mt = 173.3 +- 1.1 GeV. This is currently the most precise measurement of mt in the dilepton channel.

We present a new measurement of the $WZ\rightarrow \ell\nu\ell\ell$ ($\ell = e,\mu$) cross section and limits on anomalous triple gauge couplings. Using 4.1 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity of $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV, we observe 34 $WZ$ candidate events with an estimated background of $6.0 \pm 0.4$ events. We measure the $WZ$ production cross section to be $3.90^{+1.06}_{-0.90}$ pb, in good agreement with the standard model prediction. We find no evidence for anomalous $WWZ$ couplings and set 95% C.L. limits on the coupling parameters, $-0.075 < \lambda_{Z} < 0.093$ and $-0.027 < \Delta\kappa_{Z} < 0.080$, in the HISZ parameterization for a $\Lambda = 2$ TeV form factor scale. These are the best limits to date obtained from the direct measurement of the $WWZ$ vertex.

We present a measurement of $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}Z\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ ($\ensuremath{\ell}=e$, $\ensuremath{\mu}$) production with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $6.2\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron $p\overline{p}$ Collider. The results of the electron and muon channels are combined, and we measure the total production cross section and the differential cross section $d\ensuremath{\sigma}/d{p}_{T}^{\ensuremath{\gamma}}$, where ${p}_{T}^{\ensuremath{\gamma}}$ is the momentum of the photon in the plane transverse to the beam line. The results obtained are consistent with the standard model predictions from next-to-leading order calculations. We use the transverse momentum spectrum of the photon to place limits on anomalous $ZZ\ensuremath{\gamma}$ and $Z\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ couplings.

Search for pair production of second generation scalar leptoquarks
We report on a search for the pair production of second generation scalar leptoquarks (LQ) in pp¯ collisions at the center of mass energy s=1.96TeV using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0fb−1 collected with the DØ experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Topologies arising from the LQLQ¯→μqνq and LQLQ¯→μqμq decay modes are investigated. No excess of data over the standard model prediction is observed and upper limits on the leptoquark pair production cross section are derived at the 95% C.L. as a function of the leptoquark mass and the branching fraction β for the decay LQ→μq. These are interpreted as lower limits on the leptoquark mass as a function of β. For β=1(0.5), scalar second generation leptoquarks with masses up to 316 GeV (270 GeV) are excluded.

Search for Dark Photons from Supersymmetric Hidden Valleys
We search for a new light gauge boson, a dark photon, with the D0 experiment. In the model we consider, supersymmetric partners are pair produced and cascade to lightest neutralinos that can decay into the hidden sector state plus either a photon or a dark photon. The dark photon decays through its mixing with a photon into fermion pairs. We therefore investigate a previously unexplored final state that contains a photon, two spatially close leptons, and large missing transverse energy. We do not observe any evidence for dark photons and set a limit on their production.

Measurement of the top quark mass in final states with two leptons
We present measurements of the top quark mass in ttbar candidate events with two final state leptons using 1 inverse fb of data collected by the D0 experiment. Our data sample is selected by requiring two fully identified leptons or by relaxing one lepton requirement to an isolated track if at least one jet is tagged as a b jet. The top quark mass is extracted after reconstructing the event kinematics under the ttbar hypothesis using two methods. In the first method, we integrate over expected neutrino rapidity distributions, and in the second we calculate a weight for the possible top quark masses based on the observed particle momenta and the known parton distribution functions. We analyze 83 candidate events in data and obtain m_t = 176.2 +/- 4.8 (stat) +/- 2.1 (sys) GeV and m_t = 173.2 +/- 4.9 (stat) +/- 2.0 (sys) GeV for the two methods, respectively. Accounting for correlations between the two methods, we combine the measurements to obtain m_t = 174.7 +/- 4.4 (stat) +/- 2.0 (sys) GeV.

We report a search for diphoton events with large missing transverse energy produced in $p\overline{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$. The data were collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider and correspond to $6.3\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of integrated luminosity. The observed missing transverse energy distribution is well described by the standard model prediction, and 95% C.L. limits are derived on two realizations of theories beyond the standard model. In a gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking scenario, the breaking scale $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$ is excluded for $\ensuremath{\Lambda}<124\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$. In a universal extra dimension model including gravitational decays, the compactification radius ${R}_{c}$ is excluded for ${R}_{c}^{\ensuremath{-}1}<477\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$.

Improved b quark jet identification at the D0 experiment
The ability to identify jets which originated from b quarks is an important tool of the physics program of the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron pp¯ collider. This paper describes a new algorithm designed to select jets originating from b quarks while suppressing the contamination caused by jets from other quark flavors and gluons. Additionally, a new technique, the SystemN method, for determining the misidentification rate directly from data is presented.

We present the first measurements of the ratios of cross sections, \sigma(ppbar -> Z+c jet)/\sigma(ppbar -> Z+jet) and \sigma(ppbar -> Z+c jet)/\sigma(ppbar -> Z+b jet) for the associated production of a Z boson with at least one charm or bottom quark jet. Jets have transverse momentum p_{T}>20 GeV and pseudorapidity |\eta|<2.5. These cross section ratios are measured differentially as a function of jet and $Z$ boson transverse momenta, based on 9.7 fb^{-1} of ppbar collisions collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV. The measurements show significant deviations from perturbative QCD calculations and predictions from various event generators.

Precise measurement of the top quark mass in dilepton decays using optimized neutrino weighting
We measure the top quark mass in dilepton final states of top-antitop events in proton-antiproton collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.7 fb^-1 at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The analysis features a comprehensive optimization of the neutrino weighting method to minimize the statistical uncertainties. We also improve the calibration of jet energies using the calibration determined in top-antitop to lepton+jets events, which reduces the otherwise limiting systematic uncertainty from the jet energy scale. The measured top quark mass is mt = 173.32 +/- 1.36(stat) +/- 0.85(syst) GeV.

Prospects for dark matter search at a super c-tau factory
We present perspectives for searching for light dark matter production mediated by a leptophilic scalar {\phi} and a dark photon A' in in experiments at the Super c-tau Factory. Based on the analysis of the associative production of mediators and {\tau} -leptons at the energies of the future collider, the possibility of searching in the non-excluded region of the parameter space was found. The obtained sensitivity curves at the 90% C.L. for the mediators mass range below 4 GeV demonstrate the power of the SCTF for light dark matter search.

Search for scalar leptoquarks and T-odd quarks in the acoplanar jet topology using of collision data at
A search for new physics in the acoplanar jet topology has been performed in 2.5 fb−1 of data from pp¯ collisions at s=1.96TeV, recorded by the DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The numbers of events with exactly two acoplanar jets and missing transverse energy are in good agreement with the Standard Model expectations. The result of this search has been used to set a lower mass limit of 205 GeV at the 95% C.L. on the mass of a scalar leptoquark when this particle decays exclusively into a quark and a neutrino. In the framework of the Little Higgs model with T-parity, limits have also been obtained on the T-odd quark mass as a function of the T-odd photon mass.

Search for Long-Lived Particles Decaying into Electron or Photon Pairs with the D0 Detector
In this Letter we report on a search for long-lived particles that decay into final states with two electrons or photons. Such long-lived particles arise in a variety of theoretical models, such as hidden valleys and supersymmetry with gauge-mediated breaking. By precisely reconstructing the direction of the electromagnetic shower we are able to probe much longer lifetimes than previously explored. We see no evidence of the existence of such long-lived particles and interpret this search as a quasi model-independent limit on their production cross section, as well as a limit on a long-lived fourth generation quark.

Search for Anomalous Top-Quark Couplings with the D0 Detector
Anomalous Wtb couplings modify the angular correlations of the top-quark decay products and change the single top-quark production cross section. We present limits on anomalous top-quark couplings by combining information from W boson helicity measurements in top-quark decays and anomalous coupling searches in the single top-quark final state. We set limits on right-handed vector couplings as well as left-handed and right-handed tensor couplings based on about 1 fb(-1) of data collected by the D0 experiment.

We present a measurement of the top-quark mass (${m}_{t}$) in $p\overline{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$ using $t\overline{t}$ events with two leptons ($ee$, $e\ensuremath{\mu}$, or $\ensuremath{\mu}\ensuremath{\mu}$) and accompanying jets in $4.3\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We analyze the kinematically underconstrained dilepton events by integrating over their neutrino rapidity distributions. We reduce the dominant systematic uncertainties from the calibration of jet energy using a correction obtained from $t\overline{t}$ events with a final state of a single lepton plus jets. We also correct jets in simulated events to replicate the quark flavor dependence of the jet response in data. We measure ${m}_{t}=173.7\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.8\text{ }(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.5\text{ }(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$ and combining with our analysis in $1\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of preceding data we measure ${m}_{t}=174.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.4\text{ }(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.4\text{ }(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$. Taking into account statistical and systematic correlations, a combination with the D0 matrix element result from both data sets yields ${m}_{t}=173.9\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.9\text{ }(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.6\text{ }(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$.

We present a search for hypothetical vectorlike quarks in pp ̅ collisions at √s=1.96 TeV. The data were collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb(-1). We select events with a final state composed of a W or Z boson and a jet consistent with a heavy object decay. We observe no significant excess in comparison to the background prediction and set limits on production cross sections for vectorlike quarks decaying to W+jet and Z+jet. These are the most stringent limits to date for electroweak single vectorlike quark production at hadron colliders.

We present the first search for pair production of isolated jets of charged leptons in association with a large imbalance in transverse energy in pp collisions using 5.8 fb⁻¹ of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. No excess is observed above the standard model background, and the result is used to set upper limits on the production cross section of pairs of supersymmetric chargino and neutralino particles as a function of "dark-photon" mass, where the dark photon is produced in the decay of the lightest supersymmetric particle.

The ratio of the cross section for $p\overline{p}$ interactions producing a $Z$ boson and at least one $b$-quark jet to the inclusive $Z+\mathrm{\text{jet}}$ cross section is measured using $4.2\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of $p\overline{p}$ collisions collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$. The $Z\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ candidate events with at least one $b$ jet are discriminated from $Z+\mathrm{\text{charm}}$ and light jet(s) events by a novel technique that exploits the properties of the tracks associated to the jet. The measured ratio is $0.0193\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.0027$ for events having a jet with transverse momentum ${p}_{T}>20\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$ and pseudorapidity $|\ensuremath{\eta}|\ensuremath{\le}2.5$, which is the most precise to date and is consistent with theoretical predictions.

We report results from searches for neutral Higgs bosons produced in pp¯ collisions recorded by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We study the production of inclusive neutral Higgs boson in the ττ final state and in association with a b quark in the bττ and bbb final states. These results are combined to improve the sensitivity to the production of neutral Higgs bosons in the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). The data are found to be consistent with expectation from background processes. Upper limits on MSSM Higgs boson production are set for Higgs boson masses ranging from 90 to 300GeV. We exclude tanβ>20–30 for Higgs boson masses below 180GeV. These are the most stringent constraints on MSSM Higgs boson production in pp¯ collisions.

We present an observation for ZZ-->l+l-l'+l'- (l, l'=e or mu) production in p[over]p collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV. Using 1.7 fb(-1) of data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, we observe three candidate events with an expected background of 0.14(+0.03)_(-0.02) events. The significance of this observation is 5.3 standard deviations. The combination of D0 results in this channel, as well as in ZZ-->l+l- nu[over]nu, yields a significance of 5.7 standard deviations and a combined cross section of sigma(ZZ)=1.60+/-0.63(stat)+0.16_-0.17(syst) pb.

We present the first search for an electrically charged resonance $W^\prime$ decaying to a WZ boson pair using 4.1 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron $p\bar{p}$ collider. The WZ pairs are reconstructed through their decays into three charged leptons ($\ell=e,μ$). A total of 9 data events is observed in good agreement with the background prediction. We set 95% C.L. limits on the W'WZ coupling and on the W' production cross section multiplied by the branching fractions. We also exclude W' masses between 188 and 520 GeV within a simple extension of the standard model and set the most restrictive limits to date on low-scale technicolor models.

Search for the Standard Model Higgs Boson inZH→ℓ+ℓ−bb¯Production with the D0 Detector in9.7 fb−1ofpp¯Collisions ats=1.96 TeV
We present a search for the standard model (SM) Higgs boson produced in association with a Z boson in 9.7 fb(-1) of pp collisions collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at √s = 1.96 TeV. Selected events contain one reconstructed Z→e(+)e(-) or Z→μ(+)μ(-) candidate and at least two jets, including at least one jet identified as likely to contain a b quark. To validate the search procedure, we also measure the cross section for ZZ production in the same final state. It is found to be consistent with its SM prediction. We set upper limits on the ZH production cross section times branching ratio for H→bb at the 95% C.L. for Higgs boson masses 90 ≤ M(H) ≤ 150 GeV. The observed (expected) limit for M(H) = 125 GeV is 7.1 (5.1) times the SM cross section.

We perform a search for the rare decay Bs->mumu using data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. This result is based on the full D0 Run II dataset corresponding to 10.4 fb^(-1) of ppbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV. We use a multivariate analysis to increase the sensitivity of the search. In the absence of an observed number of events above the expected background, we set an upper limit on the decay branching fraction of BR(Bs->mumu) < 15x10^(-9) at the 95% C.L.

Search for pair production of the scalar top quark in muon+tau final states
We present a search for the pair production of scalar top quarks ($\tilde{t}_{1}$), the lightest supersymmetric partners of the top quarks, in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of {7.3 $fb^{-1}$} collected with the \dzero experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Each scalar top quark is assumed to decay into a $b$ quark, a charged lepton, and a scalar neutrino ($\tilde{\nu}$). We investigate final states arising from $\tilde{t}_{1} \bar{\tilde{t}_{1}} \rightarrow b\bar{b}\mu\tau \tilde{\nu} \tilde{\nu}$ and $\tilde{t}_{1} \bar{\tilde{t}_{1}} \rightarrow b\bar{b}\tau\tau \tilde{\nu} \tilde{\nu}$. With no significant excess of events observed above the background expected from the standard model, we set exclusion limits on this production process in the ($m_{\tilde{t}_{1}}$,$m_{\tilde{\nu}}$) plane.

The inclusive cross section of top quark-antiquark pairs produced in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV is measured in the lepton$+$jets and dilepton decay channels. The data sample corresponds to 9.7 fb${}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity recorded with the D0 detector during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Employing multivariate analysis techniques we measure the cross section in the two decay channels and we perform a combined cross section measurement. For a top quark mass of 172.5 GeV, we measure a combined inclusive top quark-antiquark pair production cross section of $\sigma_{t\bar{t}} = 7.26 \pm 0.13\,(\mathrm{stat.})\,^{+0.57}_{-0.50}\,(\mathrm{syst.})$ pb which is consistent with standard model predictions. We also perform a likelihood fit to the measured and predicted top quark mass dependence of the inclusive cross section, which yields a measurement of the pole mass of the top quark. The extracted value is $m_t = 172.8 \pm 1.1\,(\mathrm{theo.})\,^{+3.3}_{-3.1}\,(\mathrm{exp.})$ GeV.

Extending earlier investigations, we analyze the quasi-elastic scattering of strongly interacting electroweak bosons at high-energy e+-e- colliders. The three processes e+e- -> bar-nu nu W+W-, bar-nu nu ZZ, and e-e- -> W-W- are examined at a c.m. energy of 1 TeV for high-luminosity runs. The expected experimental error on the scattering amplitude, parameter-free to leading order in the chiral expansion of the WW interactions, is estimated for 1 TeV colliders at the level of ten percent, providing a stringent test of strong interaction mechanisms for breaking the electroweak symmetries.
