The CLEO II detector
The new detector for data recording by the CLEO collaboration at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring is described. This detector has been designed to optimize studying e+ e− annihilation into hadronic matter at a total energy of 10 GeV. It consists of high precesion charged particle tracking chambers and an electromagnetic calorimeter together with systems for particle identification. The design of the detector and its performance over the first year and a half of operation are presented.

The upgraded DØ detector
The D0 experiment enjoyed a very successful data-collection run at the Fermilab Tevatron collider between 1992 and 1996. Since then, the detector has been upgraded to take advantage of improvements to the Tevatron and to enhance its physics capabilities. We describe the new elements of the detector, including the silicon microstrip tracker, central fiber tracker, solenoidal magnet, preshower detectors, forward muon detector, and forward proton detector. The uranium/liquid-argon calorimeters and central muon detector, remaining from Run I, are discussed briefly. We also present the associated electronics, triggering, and data acquisition systems, along with the design and implementation of software specific to D0.

We report the observation of the X(3872) in the J/psipi(+)pi(-) channel, with J/psi decaying to mu(+)mu(-), in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV. Using approximately 230 pb(-1) of data collected with the Run II D0 detector, we observe 522+/-100 X(3872) candidates. The mass difference between the X(3872) state and the J/psi is measured to be 774.9+/-3.1(stat)+/-3.0(syst) MeV/c(2). We have investigated the production and decay characteristics of the X(3872) and find them to be similar to those of the psi(2S) state.

Measurements of the meson-photon transition form factors of light pseudoscalar mesons at large momentum transfer
Using the CLEO II detector, we have measured the differential cross sections for exclusive two-photon production of light pseudoscalar mesons ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0},$ \ensuremath{\eta}, and ${\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}.$ From our measurements we have obtained the form factors associated with the electromagnetic transitions ${\ensuremath{\gamma}}^{*}\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{\ensuremath{\gamma}}\mathrm{meson}.$ We have measured these form factors in the momentum transfer ranges from 1.5 to 9, 20, and $30{\mathrm{GeV}}^{2}$ for ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0},$ \ensuremath{\eta}, and ${\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}},$ respectively, and have made comparisons to various theoretical predictions.

Observation of Single Top-Quark Production
We report observation of the electroweak production of single top quarks in pp[over ] collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV based on 2.3 fb(-1) of data collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Using events containing an isolated electron or muon and missing transverse energy, together with jets originating from the fragmentation of b quarks, we measure a cross section of sigma(pp[over ]--> tb + X, tqb + X) = 3.94 + or - 0.88 pb. The probability to measure a cross section at this value or higher in the absence of signal is 2.5 x 10(-7), corresponding to a 5.0 standard deviation significance for the observation.

Evidence for a Particle Produced in Association with Weak Bosons and Decaying to a Bottom-Antibottom Quark Pair in Higgs Boson Searches at the Tevatron
We combine searches by the CDF and D0 Collaborations for the associated production of a Higgs boson with a W or Z boson and subsequent decay of the Higgs boson to a bottom-antibottom quark pair. The data, originating from Fermilab Tevatron pp collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV, correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb(-1). The searches are conducted for a Higgs boson with mass in the range 100-150 GeV/c(2). We observe an excess of events in the data compared with the background predictions, which is most significant in the mass range between 120 and 135 GeV/c(2). The largest local significance is 3.3 standard deviations, corresponding to a global significance of 3.1 standard deviations. We interpret this as evidence for the presence of a new particle consistent with the standard model Higgs boson, which is produced in association with a weak vector boson and decays to a bottom-antibottom quark pair.

Forward-backward asymmetry in top quark-antiquark production
We present a measurement of forward-backward asymmetry in top quark-antiquark production in proton-antiproton collisions in the final state containing a lepton and at least four jets. Using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $5.4\,\mathrm {fb}^{-1}$, collected by the \DZ\ experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, we measure the \ttbar\ forward-backward asymmetry to be $(9.2 \pm 3.7)$% at the reconstruction level. When corrected for detector acceptance and resolution, the asymmetry is found to be $(19.6 \pm 6.5)$%. We also measure a corrected asymmetry based on the lepton from a top quark decay, found to be $(15.2 \pm 4.0)$%. The results are compared to predictions based on the next-to-leading-order QCD generator {\sc mc@nlo}. The sensitivity of the measured and predicted asymmetries to the modeling of gluon radiation is discussed.

We report on a measurement of the inclusive jet cross section in pp[over ] collisions at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV using data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.70 fb;{-1}. The data cover jet transverse momenta from 50 to 600 GeV and jet rapidities in the range -2.4 to 2.4. Detailed studies of correlations between systematic uncertainties in transverse momentum and rapidity are presented, and the cross section measurements are found to be in good agreement with next-to-leading order QCD calculations.

Measurement of the Forward-Backward Charge Asymmetry in Top-Quark Pair Production
We present the first measurement of the integrated forward-backward charge asymmetry in top-quark–top-antiquark pair (t¯t) production in proton-antiproton (p¯p) collisions in the lepton+jets final state. Using a b-jet tagging algorithm and kinematic reconstruction assuming t¯t+X production and decay, a sample of 0.9 fb−1 of data, collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, is used to measure the asymmetry for different jet multiplicities. From an analysis of the flavor-tagged decay Bs0-->J/psiphi we obtain the width difference between the Bs0 light and heavy mass eigenstates, DeltaGammas = 0.19+/-0.07(stat)(-0.01)+0.02(syst) ps(-1), and the CP-violating phase, phi s= -0.57(-0.30)+0.24(stat)(-0.02)+0.08(syst). The allowed 90% CL intervals of DeltaGammas and phi s are 0.06 < DeltaGammas < 0.30 ps(-1) and -1.20 < phi s < 0.06, respectively. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.8 fb(-1) accumulated with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider.

Direct Limits on the<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msubsup><mml:mi>B</mml:mi><mml:mi>s</mml:mi><mml:mn>0</mml:mn></mml:msubsup></mml:math>Oscillation Frequency
We report results of a study of the B(s)(0) oscillation frequency using a large sample of B(s)(0) semileptonic decays corresponding to approximately 1 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider in 2002-2006. The amplitude method gives a lower limit on the B(s)(0) oscillation frequency at 14.8 ps(-1) at the 95% C.L. At delta m(s) = 19 ps(-1), the amplitude deviates from the hypothesis A= 0(1) by 2.5 (1.6) standard deviations, corresponding to a two-sided C.L. of 1% (10%). A likelihood scan over the oscillation frequency, delta m(s), gives a most probable value of 19 ps(-1) and a range of 17 < delta m(s) < 21 ps(-1)at the 90% C.L., assuming Gaussian uncertainties. This is the first direct two-sided bound measured by a single experiment. If delta m(s) lies above 22 ps(-1), then the probability that it would produce a likelihood minimum similar to the one observed in the interval 16-22 ps(-1) is (5.0 +/- 0.3)%.

RICE limits on the diffuse ultrahigh energy neutrino flux
We present new limits on ultra-high energy neutrino fluxes above 100 PeV based on data collected by the Radio Ice Cherenkov Experiment (RICE) at the South Pole from 1999-2005. We discuss estimation of backgrounds, calibration and data analysis algorithms (both on-line and off-line), procedures used for the dedicated neutrino search, and refinements in our Monte Carlo (MC) simulation, including recent in situ measurements of the complex ice dielectric constant. An enlarged data set and a more detailed study of hadronic showers results in a sensitivity improvement of more than one order of magnitude compared to our previously published results. Examination of the full RICE data set yields zero acceptable neutrino candidates, resulting in 95% confidence-level model dependent limits on the flux (E_ν)^2(dϕ/dE_ν)&lt;10^{-6} GeV/(cm^2s~sr}) in the energy range 10^{17}&lt; E_ν&lt; 10^{20} eV. The new RICE results rule out the most intense flux model projections at 95% confidence level.

We have used a sample of photon+3 jets events collected by the D0 experiment with an integrated luminosity of about 1 fb^-1 to determine the fraction of events with double parton scattering (f_DP) in a single ppbar collision at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV. The DP fraction and effective cross section (sigma_eff), a process-independent scale parameter related to the parton density inside the nucleon, are measured in three intervals of the second (ordered in pT) jet transverse momentum pT_jet2 within the range 15 < pT_jet2 < 30 GeV. In this range, f_DP varies between 0.23 < f_DP < 0.47, while sigma_eff has the average value sigma_eff_ave = 16.4 +- 0.3(stat) +- 2.3(syst) mb.

Evidence for an anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry.
We measure the charge asymmetry A ≡ (N++ - N--)/(N++ + N--) of like-sign dimuon events in 6.1 fb-1 of pp collisions recorded with the D0 detector at a center-of-mass energy square root(s) = 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. From A we extract the like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry in semileptonic b-hadron decays: A(sl)(b) = -0.009 57 ± 0.002 51(stat) ± 0.001 46(sys). It differs by 3.2 standard deviations from the standard model prediction A(sl)(b)(SM) = (-2.3(-0.6)(+0.5)) × 10(-4), and provides first evidence of anomalous CP violation in the mixing of neutral B mesons.

We combine searches by the CDF and D0 collaborations for a Higgs boson decaying to W+W-. The data correspond to an integrated total luminosity of 4.8 (CDF) and 5.4 (D0) fb-1 of p-pbar collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. No excess is observed above background expectation, and resulting limits on Higgs boson production exclude a standard-model Higgs boson in the mass range 162-166 GeV at the 95% C.L.

Evidence for a<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msubsup><mml:mi>B</mml:mi><mml:mi>s</mml:mi><mml:mn>0</mml:mn></mml:msubsup><mml:msup><mml:mi>π</mml:mi><mml:mo>±</mml:mo></mml:msup></mml:math>State
We report evidence for a narrow structure, X(5568), in the decay sequence X(5568)→B_{s}^{0}π^{±}, B_{s}^{0}→J/ψϕ, J/ψ→μ^{+}μ^{-}, ϕ→K^{+}K^{-}. This is evidence for the first instance of a hadronic state with valence quarks of four different flavors. The mass and natural width of this state are measured to be m=5567.8±2.9(stat)_{-1.9}^{+0.9}(syst) MeV/c^{2} and Γ=21.9±6.4(stat)_{-2.5}^{+5.0}(syst) MeV/c^{2}. If the decay is X(5568)→B_{s}^{*}π^{±}→B_{s}^{0}γπ^{±} with an unseen γ, m(X(5568)) will be shifted up by m(B_{s}^{*})-m(B_{s}^{0})∼49 MeV/c^{2}. This measurement is based on 10.4 fb^{-1} of pp[over ¯] collision data at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider.

The layer 0 inner silicon detector of the D0 experiment
This paper describes the design, fabrication, installation and performance of the new inner layer called Layer 0 (L0) that was inserted in the existing Run IIa silicon micro-strip tracker (SMT) of the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron p¯p collider. L0 provides tracking information from two layers of sensors, which are mounted with center lines at a radial distance of 16.1 and 17.6 mm from the beam axis. The sensors and read-out electronics are mounted on a specially designed and fabricated carbon fiber structure that includes cooling for sensor and read-out electronics. The structure has a thin polyimide circuit bonded to it so that the circuit couples electrically to the carbon fiber allowing the support structure to be used both for detector grounding and a low impedance connection between the remotely mounted hybrids and the sensors.

Evidence for an anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry
We measure the charge asymmetry $A$ of like-sign dimuon events in 6.1 fb$^{-1}$ of $p\bar{p}$ collisions recorded with the D0 detector at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. From $A$, we extract the like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry in semileptonic $b$-hadron decays: $\aslb = -0.00957 \pm 0.00251 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.00146 ({\rm syst})$. This result differs by 3.2 standard deviations from the standard model prediction $\aslb(SM) = (-2.3^{+0.5}_{-0.6}) \times 10^{-4}$ and provides first evidence of anomalous CP-violation in the mixing of neutral $B$ mesons.

Combination of the top-quark mass measurements from the Tevatron collider
The top quark is the heaviest known elementary particle, with a mass about 40 times larger than the mass of its isospin partner, the bottom quark. It decays almost 100% of the time to a $W$ boson and a bottom quark. Using top-antitop pairs at the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider, the CDF and D0 Collaborations have measured the top quark's mass in different final states for integrated luminosities of up to $5.8\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$. This paper reports on a combination of these measurements that results in a more precise value of the mass than any individual decay channel can provide. It describes the treatment of the systematic uncertainties and their correlations. The mass value determined is $173.18\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.56\text{ }(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.75\text{ }(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$ or $173.18\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.94\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$, which has a precision of $\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.54%$, making this the most precise determination of the top-quark mass.

Search for charged Higgs bosons in top quark decays
We present a search for charged Higgs bosons in top quark decays. We analyze the \eplus, \muplus, $ee$, $e\mu$, $\mu\mu$, \etau and \mutau final states from top quark pair production events, using data from about 1${\text{fb}}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity recorded by the \dzero experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We consider different scenarios of possible charged Higgs boson decays, one where the charged Higgs boson decays purely hadronically into a charm and a strange quark, another where it decays into a $\tau$ lepton and a $\tau$ neutrino and a third one where both decays appear. We extract limits on the branching ratio $B(t\to H^+ b)$ for all these models. We use two methods, one where the $t\bar{t}$ production cross section is fixed, and one where the cross section is fitted simultaneously with $B(t\to H^+b)$. Based on the extracted limits, we exclude regions in the charged Higgs boson mass and $\tan \beta$ parameter space for different scenarios of the minimal supersymmetric standard model.

We present an updated measurement of the anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry Aslb for semi-leptonic $b$-hadron decays in 9.0 fb^-1 of p pbar collisions recorded with the D0 detector at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We obtain Aslb = (-0.787 +- 0.172(stat) +- 0.093 (syst))%. This result differs by 3.9 standard deviations from the prediction of the standard model and provides evidence for anomalously large CP violation in semi-leptonic neutral B decay. The dependence of the asymmetry on the muon impact parameter is consistent with the hypothesis that it originates from semi-leptonic b-hadron decays.

Higgs boson studies at the Tevatron
We combine searches by the CDF and D0 Collaborations for the standard model Higgs boson with mass in the range 90–200 GeV/c2 produced in the gluon-gluon fusion, WH, ZH, t¯tH, and vector boson fusion processes, and decaying in the H→b¯b, H→W+W−, H→ZZ, H→τ+τ−, and H→γγ modes. The data correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 10 fb−1 and were collected at the Fermilab Tevatron in p¯p collisions at √s=1.96 TeV. The searches are also interpreted in the context of fermiophobic and fourth generation models. We observe a significant excess of events in the mass range between 115 and 140 GeV/c2. The local significance corresponds to 3.0 standard deviations at mH=125 GeV/c2, consistent with the mass of the Higgs boson observed at the LHC, and we expect a local significance of 1.9 standard deviations. We separately combine searches for H→b¯b, H→W+W−, H→τ+τ−, and H→γγ. We report an updated measurement of the CP-violating phase, $\phi_s^{J/\psi \phi}$, and the decay-width difference for the two mass eigenstates, $\Delta \Gamma_s$, from the flavor-tagged decay $B_s^0 \rightarrow J/\psi \phi$. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 8.0 fb$^{-1}$ accumulated with the D0 detector using $p \barp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV produced at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The 68% confidence level intervals, including systematic uncertainties, are $\Delta \Gamma_s = 0.163 +0.065 -0.064 ps^{-1}$ and $\phi_s^{J/\psi \phi} = -0.55 +0.38 -0.36$. Measurement of the<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mi>W</mml:mi></mml:math>Boson Mass with the D0 Detector
We present a measurement of the W boson mass using data corresponding to 4.3fb^-1 of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector during Run II at the Fermilab Tevatron p\bar{p} collider. With a sample of 1,677,394 W -> e\nu candidate events, we measure M_W = 80.367 +/- 0.026 GeV. This result is combined with an earlier D0 result determined using an independent Run II data sample, corresponding to 1fb^-1 of integrated luminosity, to yield M_W = 80.375 +/- 0.023 GeV.

We describe an analysis comparing the $p\overline{p}$ elastic cross section as measured by the D0 Collaboration at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV to that in $pp$ collisions as measured by the TOTEM Collaboration at 2.76, 7, 8, and 13 TeV using a model-independent approach. The TOTEM cross sections, extrapolated to a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$, are compared with the D0 measurement in the region of the diffractive minimum and the second maximum of the $pp$ cross section. The two data sets disagree at the $3.4\ensuremath{\sigma}$ level and thus provide evidence for the $t$-channel exchange of a colorless, $C$-odd gluonic compound, also known as the odderon. We combine these results with a TOTEM analysis of the same $C$-odd exchange based on the total cross section and the ratio of the real to imaginary parts of the forward elastic strong interaction scattering amplitude in $pp$ scattering for which the significance is between $3.4\ensuremath{\sigma}$ and $4.6\ensuremath{\sigma}$. The combined significance is larger than $5\ensuremath{\sigma}$ and is interpreted as the first observation of the exchange of a colorless, $C$-odd gluonic compound.

We use data collected with the CLEO II detector to perform a high-statistics measurement of the resonant substructure in ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ decays. We find that the Dalitz plot is well represented by a combination of seven quasi-two-body decay channels $[{K}^{*0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0},{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rho},{K}^{*\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+},{K}_{0}{(1430)}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+},{K}_{0}{(1430)}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0},{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\rho}}^{+}(1700),$ and ${K}^{*}{(1680)}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}],$ plus a small non-resonant component. We see no evidence of a scalar $\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{\ensuremath{\kappa}}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ resonance in the mass range recently reported by other groups. Using the amplitudes and phases from this analysis, we calculate an integrated $\mathrm{CP}$ asymmetry of $\ensuremath{-}0.031\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.086.$

CLEO has studied B decays to πℓν, ρℓν, and ωℓν, where ℓ=eorμ, by incorporating the missing momentum into full B reconstruction. With the B0 and B+ modes combined according to isospin predictions for the relative partial widths, we obtain B(B0→π−ℓ+ν)=(1.8±0.4±0.3±0.2)×10−4 and B(B0→ρ−ℓ+ν)=(2.5±0.4+0.5−0.7±0.5)×10−4, where the errors are statistical, systematic, and the estimated model dependence. We present a measurement of the shape of the boson rapidity distribution for p¯p→Z/γ∗→e+e−+X events at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The measurement is made for events with electron-positron mass 71<Mee<111 GeV and uses 0.4 fb−1 of data collected at the Fermilab Tevatron collider with the D0 detector. This measurement significantly reduces the uncertainties on the rapidity distribution in the forward region compared with previous measurements. A data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.1 fb−1 collected by the DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider was analyzed to search for squarks and gluinos produced in pp¯ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. No evidence for the production of such particles was observed in topologies involving jets and missing transverse energy, and 95% C.L. lower limits of 379 GeV and 308 GeV were set on the squark and gluino masses, respectively, within the framework of minimal supergravity with tanβ=3, A0=0, and μ<0. The corresponding previous limits are improved by 54 GeV and 67 GeV.

Evidence for Production of Single Top Quarks and First Direct Measurement of<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mo stretchy="false">|</mml:mo><mml:msub><mml:mi>V</mml:mi><mml:mrow><mml:mi>t</mml:mi><mml:mi>b</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub><mml:mo stretchy="false">|</mml:mo></mml:math>
The D0 Collaboration presents first evidence for the production of single top quarks at the Fermilab Tevatron pp[over ] collider. Using a 0.9 fb(-1) dataset, we apply a multivariate analysis to separate signal from background and measure sigma(pp[over ]-->tb+X,tqb+X)=4.9+/-1.4 pb. The probability to measure a cross section at this value or higher in the absence of a signal is 0.035%, corresponding to a 3.4 standard deviation significance. We use the cross section measurement to directly determine the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element that describes the Wtb coupling and find 0.68<|V(tb)|</=1 at 95% C.L. within the standard model.

We present a measurement of the shape of the $Z/{\ensuremath{\gamma}}^{*}$ boson transverse momentum (${q}_{T}$) distribution in $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}Z/{\ensuremath{\gamma}}^{*}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}+X$ events at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV using $0.98\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The data are found to be consistent with the resummation prediction at low ${q}_{T}$, but above the perturbative QCD calculation in the region of ${q}_{T}&gt;30\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/c$. Using events with ${q}_{T}&lt;30\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/c$, we extract the value of ${g}_{2}$, one of the nonperturbative parameters for the resummation calculation. Data at large boson rapidity $y$ are compared with the prediction of resummation and with alternative models that employ a resummed form factor with modifications in the small Bjorken $x$ region of the proton wave function.

Direct Observation of the Strange<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mi>b</mml:mi></mml:math>Baryon<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msubsup><mml:mi>Ξ</mml:mi><mml:mi>b</mml:mi><mml:mo>−</mml:mo></mml:msubsup></mml:math>
We report the first direct observation of the strange b baryon Xi(b)- (Xi(b)+). We reconstruct the decay Xi(b)- -->J/psiXi-, with J/psi-->mu+mu-, and Xi--->Lambdapi--->ppi-pi- in pp collisions at square root of s =1.96 TeV. Using 1.3 fb(-1) of data collected by the D0 detector, we observe 15.2 +/- 4.4(stat)(-0.4)(+1.9)(syst) Xi(b)- candidates at a mass of 5.774 +/- 0.011(stat) +/- 0.015(syst) GeV. The significance of the observed signal is 5.5 sigma, equivalent to a probability of 3.3 x 10(-8) of it arising from a background fluctuation. Normalizing to the decay Lambda(b)-->J/psiLambda, we measure the relative rate sigma(Xi(b-) x B(Xi)b})- -->J/psiXi-)/sigma(Lambda(b)) x B(Lambda(b)-->J/psiLambda) = 0.28+/-0.09(stat)(-0.08)(+0.09)(syst).

We have measured the three form factors governing the decay ${\mathit{D}}^{+}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}K\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{} $^{\mathrm{*}0}$${\mathit{e}}^{+}$${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\mathit{e}}$, observed in Fermilab photoproduction experiment E691, using the complete decay distribution of the data. The results are ${\mathit{A}}_{1}$(0)=0.46\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05, ${\mathit{A}}_{2}$(0)=0.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.1, and V(0)=0.9\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.1 for the two axial-vector and the vector form factors, respectively. The K\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{} $^{\mathrm{*}0}$ mesons have a ratio of longitudinal to transverse polarization of 1.${8}_{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}0.4}^{+0.6}$\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.3. These results are significantly different from values predicted by a number of different models.

Evidence for an Anomalous Like-Sign Dimuon Charge Asymmetry
We measure the charge asymmetry $A\equiv(N^{++} - N^{--})/(N^{++} + N^{--})$ of like-sign dimuon events in 6.1~fb$^{-1}$ of $p\bar{p}$ collisions recorded with the D0 detector at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=1.96$~TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. From $A$ we extract the like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry in semileptonic $b$-hadron decays: $\aslb=-0.00957\pm0.00251\thinspace({\rm stat})\pm0.00146\thinspace({\rm sys})$. It differs by 3.2~standard deviations from the standard model prediction $\aslb({\rm SM})=(-2.3^{+0.5}_{-0.6})\times10^{-4}$, and provides first evidence of anomalous $CP$ violation in the mixing of neutral $B$ mesons.

Evidence for production of single top quarks
We present first evidence for the production of single top quarks in the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron ppbar collider. The standard model predicts that the electroweak interaction can produce a top quark together with an antibottom quark or light quark, without the antiparticle top quark partner that is always produced from strong coupling processes. Top quarks were first observed in pair production in 1995, and since then, single top quark production has been searched for in ever larger datasets. In this analysis, we select events from a 0.9 fb-1 dataset that have an electron or muon and missing transverse energy from the decay of a W boson from the top quark decay, and two, three, or four jets, with one or two of the jets identified as originating from a b hadron decay. The selected events are mostly backgrounds such as W+jets and ttbar events, which we separate from the expected signals using three multivariate analysis techniques: boosted decision trees, Bayesian neural networks, and matrix element calculations. A binned likelihood fit of the signal cross section plus background to the data from the combination of the results from the three analysis methods gives a cross section for single top quark production of 4.7 +- 1.3 pb. The probability to measure a cross section at this value or higher in the absence of signal is 0.014%, corresponding to a 3.6 standard deviation significance. The measured cross section value is compatible at the 10% level with the standard model prediction for electroweak top quark production.

b-Jet identification in the D0 experiment
Algorithms distinguishing jets originating from b quarks from other jet flavors are important tools in the physics program of the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron p-pbar collider. This article describes the methods that have been used to identify b-quark jets, exploiting in particular the long lifetimes of b-flavored hadrons, and the calibration of the performance of these algorithms based on collider data.

Combination of<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mi>t</mml:mi><mml:mover accent="true"><mml:mi>t</mml:mi><mml:mo>¯</mml:mo></mml:mover></mml:math>cross section measurements and constraints on the mass of the top quark and its decays into charged Higgs bosons
We combine measurements of the top quark pair production cross section in p¯p collisions in the ℓ+jets, ℓℓ, and τℓ final states (where ℓ is an electron or muon) at a center of mass energy of √s=1.96 TeV in 1 fb−1 of data collected with the D0 detector. For a top quark mass of 170 GeV/c2, we obtain σt¯t=8.18+0.98−0.87 pb in agreement with the theoretical prediction. Based on predictions from higher order quantum chromodynamics, we extract a mass for the top quark from the combined t¯t cross section, consistent with the world average of the top quark mass. We present the first measurement of dijet angular distributions in ppbar collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The measurement is based on a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of up to 0.7fb-1 collected with the D0 detector. Dijet angular distributions have been measured over a range of dijet masses, from 0.25TeV to above 1.1TeV. The data are in good agreement with the predictions of perturbative QCD and are used to constrain new physics models including quark compositeness, large extra dimensions, and TeV-1 scale extra dimensions. For all models we set the most stringent direct limits to date.

Combination of CDF and D0<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mi>W</mml:mi></mml:math>-Boson mass measurements
We summarize and combine direct measurements of the mass of the W boson in √s=1.96 TeV proton-antiproton collision data collected by CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Earlier measurements from CDF and D0 are combined with the two latest, more precise measurements: a CDF measurement in the electron and muon channels using data corresponding to 2.2 fb−1 of integrated luminosity, and a D0 measurement in the electron channel using data corresponding to 4.3 fb−1 of integrated luminosity. The resulting Tevatron average for the mass of the W boson is MW=80387±16 MeV. We present the results of a search for the flavor changing neutral current decay B_s^0->mu^+mu^- using 6.1 fb^-1 of ppbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The observed number of B_s^0 candidates is consistent with background expectations. The resulting upper limit on the branching fraction is BR(B_s^0->mu^+mu^-) < 5.1 x 10^-8 at the 95% C.L. This limit is a factor of 2.4 better than that of the previous D0 analysis and the best limit to date.

The signal consists of 54+/-12 candidates with a significance that exceeds 5 standard deviations, and confirms earlier observations of this decay. The measured mass of the Bc meson is 6300+/-14(stat)+/-5(syst) MeV/c2.

We present a measurement of the forward--backward asymmetry in top quark-antiquark production using the full Tevatron Run II dataset collected by the D0 experiment at Fermilab. The measurement is performed in lepton+jets final states using a new kinematic fitting algorithm for events with four or more jets and a new partial reconstruction algorithm for events with only three jets. Corrected for detector acceptance and resolution effects, the asymmetry is evaluated to be 10.6+-3.0 %. Results are consistent with the standard model predictions which range from 5.0% to 8.8%. We also present the dependence of the asymmetry on the invariant mass of the top quark--antiquark system and the difference in rapidities of top quark and antiquark.

Combination of measurements of the top-quark pair production cross section from the Tevatron Collider
We combine six measurements of the inclusive top-quark pair (ttbar) production cross section (sigma_ttbar) from data collected with the CDF and D0 detectors at the Fermilab Tevatron with proton anti-proton collisions at sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV. The data correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 8.8 fb^{-1}. We obtain a value of sigma_ttbar = 7.60 \pm 0.41 pb for a top-quark mass of m_t=172.5 GeV. The contributions to the uncertainty are 0.20 pb from statistical sources, 0.29 pb from systematic sources, and 0.21 pb from the uncertainty on the integrated luminosity. The result is in good agreement with the standard model expectation of 7.35^{+0.28}_{-0.33} pb at NNLO+NNLL in pertubative QCD.

Improved determination of the width of the top quark
We present an improved determination of the total width of the top quark, $Γ_t$, using 5.4 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 Collaboration at the Tevatron $p\bar{p}$ Collider. The total width $Γ_t$ is extracted from the partial decay width $Γ(t\to Wb)$ and the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(t\to Wb)$. $Γ(t\to Wb)$ is obtained from the $t$-channel single top quark production cross section and $\mathcal{B}(t\to Wb)$ is measured in $t\bar{t}$ events. For a top mass of $172.5\;\rm GeV$, the resulting width is $Γ_t = 2.00^{+0.47}_{-0.43}$ GeV. This translates to a top-quark lifetime of $τ_t = (3.29^{+0.90}_{-0.63})\times10^{-25}$ s. We also extract an improved direct limit on the CKM matrix element $0.81 &lt; |V_{tb}| \leq 1$ at 95% C.L. and a limit of $|V_{tb'}| &lt; 0.59$ for a high mass fourth generation bottom quark assuming unitarity of the fourth generation quark mixing matrix.

Observation and studies of double<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mi>J</mml:mi><mml:mo stretchy="false">/</mml:mo><mml:mi>ψ</mml:mi></mml:math>production at the Tevatron
We present the observation of doubly-produced $J/\psi$ mesons with the D0 detector at Fermilab in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV. The production cross section for both singly and doubly-produced $J/\psi$ mesons is measured using a sample with an integrated luminosity of 8.1fb$^{-1}$. For the first time, the double $J/\psi$ production cross section is separated into contributions due to single and double parton scatterings. Using these measurements, we determine the effective cross section $\sigma_{eff}$, a parameter characterizing an effective spatial area of the parton-parton interactions and related to the parton spatial density inside the nucleon.

We present a measurement of the inclusive jet cross section using the Run II cone algorithm and data collected by the D0 experiment in p pbar collisions at a center-of-mass energy sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.70 fb^(-1). The jet energy calibration and the method used to extract the inclusive jet cross section are described. We discuss the main uncertainties, which are dominated by the jet energy scale uncertainty. The results cover jet transverse momenta from 50 GeV to 600 GeV with jet rapidities in the range -2.4 to 2.4 and are compared to predictions using recent proton parton distribution functions. Studies of correlations between systematic uncertainties in transverse momentum and rapidity are presented.

Observation of<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mi>s</mml:mi></mml:math>-Channel Production of Single Top Quarks at the Tevatron
We report the first observation of single-top-quark production in the s channel through the combination of the CDF and D0 measurements of the cross section in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The data correspond to total integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb−1 per experiment. The measured cross section is σs=1.29+0.26−0.24 pb. We present the final combination of CDF and D0 measurements of cross sections for single-top-quark production in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The data correspond to total integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb^{-1} per experiment. The t-channel cross section is measured to be σ_{t}=2.25_{-0.31}^{+0.29} pb. We also present the combinations of the two-dimensional measurements of the s- vs t-channel cross section. In addition, we give the combination of the s+t channel cross section measurement resulting in σ_{s+t}=3.30_{-0.40}^{+0.52} pb, without assuming the standard model value for the ratio σ_{s}/σ_{t}. The resulting value of the magnitude of the top-to-bottom quark coupling is |V_{tb}|=1.02_{-0.05}^{+0.06}, corresponding to |V_{tb}|>0.92 at the 95% C.L.

The b production cross section and angular correlations in p collisions at =
We present measurements of the bb production cross section and angular correlations using the DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp Collider operating at s = 1.8 TeV. The b quark production cross section for |yb|<1.0 and pTb>6 GeV/c is extracted from single muon and dimuon data samples. The results agree in shape with the next-to-leading order QCD calculation of heavy flavor production but are greater than the central values of these predictions. The angular correlations between b and b quarks, measured from the azimuthal opening angle between their decay muons, also agree in shape with the next-to-leading order QCD prediction.

Based on a sample corresponding to 4.3 million produced tau-pair events, we have studied hadronic dynamics in the decay tau- --> nu_tau pi- pi0 pi0 in data recorded by the CLEO II detector operating at the CESR e+e- collider. The decay is dominated by the process tau --> nu_tau a_1(1260), with the a_1 meson decaying to three pions predominantly via the lowest dimensional (mainly S-wave) a_1 --> rho pi Born amplitude. From fits to the Dalitz plot and angular observables, we find significant additional contributions from amplitudes for a_1 decay to sigma pi, f_0(1370) pi and f_2(1270) pi, as well as higher dimensional a_1 --> rho pi and rho' pi amplitudes. The squared sigma pi amplitude accounts for ~15% of the total tau- --> nu_tau pi- pi0 pi0 rate in the models considered. We have searched for additional contributions from tau --> nu_tau pi'(1300). We place 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fraction for this channel of between 1.0*10^{-4} and 1.9*10^{-4}, depending on the pi' decay mode. The pi- pi0 pi0 mass spectrum is parametrized by a Breit-Wigner form with a mass-dependent width which is specified according to the results of the Dalitz plot fits plus a coupling to an a_1 --> K* K amplitude. From a chi^2 fit, we extract the pole mass and width of the a_1, as well as the magnitude of the K* K coupling. We have also investigated the impact of a possible contribution from the a_1'(1700) meson on this spectrum. Finally, exploiting the parity-violating angular asymmetry in a_1 --> 3pi decay, we determine the signed value of the tau neutrino helicity to be h_{\nu_\tau} = -1.02 +- 0.13(stat.) +- 0.03(syst.+model), confirming the left-handedness of the tau neutrino.

We present an analysis of the exclusive semileptonic decay mode ${D}^{0}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${K}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$${e}^{+}$${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e}$. We have measured the ratio of decay rates .11(syst), which corresponds to a ${D}^{0}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${K}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$${e}^{+}$${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e}$ branching fraction of (3.8\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.6)%. Combining our result with a measurement of the ${D}^{0}$ lifetime, we find .1\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.4)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{10}$ ${\mathrm{s}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$. We have also measured the vector form factor ${f}_{+}$(t) and find that it is consistent with the single-pole form where the pole mass =2.11 GeV/${c}^{2}$.

Measurement of charmless semileptonic decays of<i>B</i>mesons
Using the CLEO II detector and a sample of 955 000 Υ(4S) decays we have confirmed charmless semileptonic decays of B mesons. In the momentum interval 2.3–2.6 GeV/c we observe an excess of 107±15±11 leptons, which we attribute to b→ulν. This result yields a model-dependent range of values for ‖Vub/Vcb‖ that is lower than has been obtained in previous studies. For the inclusive spectator model of Altarelli et al. we find ‖Vub/Vcb‖=0.076±0.008. We report a measurement of the ${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}+}$ and ${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}0}$ decay branching fractions based on 780 ${\mathrm{pb}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$ of data collected with the CLEO II detector. For radiative ${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}+}$ decay, we obtain an upper limit, scrB(${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}+}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{D}}^{+}$\ensuremath{\gamma})4.2% (90% confidence level), which is substantially below previous results, and eliminates the need for an anomalously large charm quark magnetic moment.

The photons span transverse momenta 23 to 300 GeV and have pseudorapidity |η|<0.9. The cross section is compared with the results from two next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations. The theoretical predictions agree with the measurement within uncertainties.

Correlations in the azimuthal angle between the two largest transverse momentum jets have been measured using the D0 detector in $p\overline{p}$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$. The analysis is based on an inclusive dijet event sample in the central rapidity region corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $150\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$. Azimuthal correlations are stronger at larger transverse momenta. These are well described in perturbative QCD at next-to-leading order in the strong coupling constant, except at large azimuthal differences where contributions with low transverse momentum are significant.

We report the observation of the doubly strange b baryon Omegab- in the decay channel Omegab(-)-->J/psiOmega-, with J/psi-->mu+mu(-) and Omega(-)-->LambdaK(-)-->(ppi-)K-, in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV. Using approximately 1.3 fb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, we observe 17.8+/-4.9(stat)+/-0.8(syst) Omegab- signal events at a mass of 6.165+/-0.010(stat)+/-0.013(syst) GeV. The significance of the observed signal is 5.4sigma, corresponding to a probability of 6.7 x 10(-8) of it arising from a background fluctuation.

We report results on the differential and total cross sections for inclusive production of the charmed particles ${D}^{\mathrm{*}+}$, ${D}^{\mathrm{*}0}$, ${D}^{0}$, ${D}^{+}$, ${D}_{s}$, and ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}_{\mathit{c}}$ in ${\mathit{e}}^{+}$${\mathit{e}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$ annihilations at \ensuremath{\surd}s=10.55 GeV. Widely used quark fragmentation models are discussed and compared with the measured charmed-particle momentum distributions. This comparison, as well as that with measurements at other center-of-mass energies, shows the need to take QCD corrections into account and their importance for a correct interpretation of the model parameters. The observed rate of ${D}^{0}$ and ${D}^{+}$ production is compared to the expected total charm production cross section. We measure the probability of a charmed meson being produced as a vector meson and the ${D}^{\mathrm{*}+}$ decay branching fraction into ${D}^{0}$${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$.

Γ(b→ulν)/Γ(b→clν) from the end point of the lepton momentum spectrum in semileptonic<i>B</i>decay
We have used the measured yield of leptons near the end point of the momentum spectrum from semileptonic B decay to obtain an upper limit on \ensuremath{\Gamma}(b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}ul\ensuremath{\nu})/\ensuremath{\Gamma}(b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}cl\ensuremath{\nu}) and a corresponding limit on \ensuremath{\Vert}${V}_{\mathrm{ub}}$\ensuremath{\Vert}/\ensuremath{\Vert}${V}_{\mathrm{cb}}$\ensuremath{\Vert}.

We present a measurement of the W boson mass in W-->e(nu) decays using 1 fb-1 of data collected with the D0 detector during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron collider. With a sample of 499830 W-->e(nu) candidate events, we measure M(W)=80.401+/-0.043 GeV. This is the most precise measurement from a single experiment.

We report the direct observation of the excited $L=1$ state ${B}_{s2}^{*}$ in fully reconstructed decays to ${B}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. The mass of the ${B}_{s2}^{*}$ meson is measured to be $5839.6\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.1(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.7(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$, and its production rate relative to the ${B}^{+}$ meson is measured to be $[1.15\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.23(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.13(\mathrm{syst})]%$.

Search for associated production of charginos and neutralinos in the trilepton final state using 2.3 fb−1 of data
We report the results of a search for associated production of charginos and neutralinos using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3 fb−1 collected with the DØ experiment during Run II of the Tevatron proton–antiproton collider. Final states containing three charged leptons and missing transverse energy are probed for a signal from supersymmetry with four dedicated trilepton event selections. No evidence for a signal is observed, and we set limits on the product of production cross section and leptonic branching fraction. Within minimal supergravity, these limits translate into bounds on m0 and m1/2 that are well beyond existing limits.

Measurement of the muon charge asymmetry from<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mi>W</mml:mi></mml:math>boson decays
We present a measurement of the muon charge asymmetry from W boson decays using 0.3 fb−1 of data collected at s=1.96 GeV between 2002 and 2004 with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pp¯ Collider. We compare our findings with expectations from next-to-leading-order calculations performed using the CTEQ6.1M and MRST04 NLO parton distribution functions. We report the results of a search for a heavy neutral gauge boson Z′ decaying into the dielectron final state using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb−1 collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. No significant excess above the standard model prediction is observed in the dielectron invariant-mass spectrum. We set 95σ(pp¯→Z′)×BR(Z′→ee) depending on the dielectron invariant mass. These cross section limits are used to determine lower mass limits for Z′ bosons in a variety of models. For the sequential standard model Z′ boson a lower mass limit of 1023 GeV is obtained.

We use higher-order quantum chromodynamics calculations to extract the mass of the top quark from the ttbar cross section measured in the lepton+jets channel in ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV using 5.3 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The extracted top quark pole mass and MSbar mass are compared to the current Tevatron average top quark mass obtained from direct measurements.

We determine the strong coupling constant ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{s}$ and its energy dependence from the ${p}_{T}$ dependence of the inclusive jet cross section in $p\overline{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$. The strong coupling constant is determined over the transverse momentum range $50&lt;{p}_{T}&lt;145\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$. Using perturbative QCD calculations to order $\mathcal{O}({\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{s}^{3})$ combined with $\mathcal{O}({\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{s}^{4})$ contributions from threshold corrections, we obtain ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{s}({M}_{Z})={0.1161}_{\ensuremath{-}0.0048}^{+0.0041}$. This is the most precise result obtained at a hadron-hadron collider.

We present a model-independent measurement of $t$-channel electroweak production of single top quarks in $\ppbar$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\;\rm TeV$. Using $5.4\;\rm fb^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, and selecting events containing an isolated electron or muon, missing transverse energy and one or two jets originating from the fragmentation of $b$ quarks, we measure a cross section $\sigma({\ppbar}{\rargap}tqb+X) = 2.90 \pm 0.59\;\rm (stat+syst)\; pb$ for a top quark mass of $172.5\;\rm GeV$. The probability of the background to fluctuate and produce a signal as large as the one observed is $1.6\times10^{-8}$, corresponding to a significance of 5.5 standard deviations.

We present a study of the dijet invariant mass spectrum in events with two jets produced in association with a W boson in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.3 fb^-1 collected with the D0 detector at sqrt{s} =1.96 TeV. We find no evidence for anomalous resonant dijet production and derive upper limits on the production cross section of an anomalous dijet resonance recently reported by the CDF Collaboration, investigating the range of dijet invariant mass from 110 to 170 GeV/c^2. The probability of the D0 data being consistent with the presence of a dijet resonance with 4 pb production cross section at 145 GeV/c^2 is 8x10^-6.

We present a measurement of the elastic differential cross section $d\ensuremath{\sigma}(p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p})/dt$ as a function of the four-momentum-transfer squared $t$. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $\ensuremath{\approx}31\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{nb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected with the D0 detector using dedicated Tevatron $p\overline{p}$ Collider operating conditions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$ and covers the range $0.26&lt;|t|&lt;1.2\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{GeV}}^{2}$. For $|t|&lt;0.6\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{GeV}}^{2}$, $d\ensuremath{\sigma}/dt$ is described by an exponential function of the form $A{e}^{\ensuremath{-}b|t|}$ with a slope parameter $b=16.86\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.10(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.20(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{GeV}}^{\ensuremath{-}2}$. A change in slope is observed at $|t|\ensuremath{\approx}0.6\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{GeV}}^{2}$, followed by a more gradual $|t|$ dependence with increasing values of $|t|$.

Using 7.3 pb-1 of ppbar collisions collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron, we measure the distribution of the variable \phistar, which probes the same physical effects as the Z/gamma* boson transverse momentum, but is less susceptible to the effects of experimental resolution and efficiency. A QCD prediction is found to describe the general features of the \phistar distribution, but is unable to describe its detailed shape or dependence on boson rapidity. A prediction that includes a broadening of transverse momentum for small values of the parton momentum fraction is strongly disfavored.

We present a measurement of the inclusive top quark pair production cross section in \ppbar collisions at (\sqrt{s}=1.96) TeV utilizing data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of \lumi\ collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We consider final states containing one high-$p_{T}$ isolated electron or muon and at least two jets, and we perform three analyses: one exploiting specific kinematic features of \ttbar events, the second using $b$-jet identification, and the third using both techniques to separate \ttbar\ signal from background. In the third case, we determine simultaneously the $t\bar{t}$ cross section and the ratio of the production rates of $W$+heavy flavor jets and $W$+light flavor jets, which reduces the impact of the systematic uncertainties related to the background estimation. Assuming a top quark mass of 172.5 GeV, we obtain $\sigma_{t\bar{t}} = 7.78^{+0.77}_{-0.64} $ pb. This result agrees with predictions of the standard model.

We present a measurement of the ttbar production cross section sigma(ttbar) in ppbar collisions at sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV using 5.4 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector. We consider final states with at least two jets and two leptons (ee, emu, mumu), and events with one jet for the the emu final state as well. The measured cross section is sigma(ttbar)= 7.36 +0.90-0.79 (stat + syst) pb. This result combined with the cross section measurement in the lepton + jets final state yields sigma(ttbar)=7.56 +0.63-0.56 (stat + syst) pb, which agrees with the standard model expectation. The relative precision of 8% of this measurement is comparable to the latest theoretical calculations.

Measurement of the semileptonic charge asymmetry in<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msup><mml:mi>B</mml:mi><mml:mn>0</mml:mn></mml:msup></mml:math>meson mixing with the D0 detector
We present a measurement of the semileptonic mixing asymmetry for ${B}^{0}$ mesons, ${a}_{\mathrm{sl}}^{d}$, using two independent decay channels: ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{D}^{\ensuremath{-}}X$, with ${D}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$; and ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{D}^{*\ensuremath{-}}X$, with ${D}^{*\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{D}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, ${\overline{D}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ (and charge conjugate processes). We use a data sample corresponding to $10.4\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of $p\overline{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$, collected with the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We extract the charge asymmetries in these two channels as a function of the visible proper decay length of the ${B}^{0}$ meson, correct for detector-related asymmetries using data-driven methods, and account for dilution from charge-symmetric processes using Monte Carlo simulation. The final measurement combines four signal visible proper decay length regions for each channel, yielding ${a}_{\mathrm{sl}}^{d}=[0.68\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.45(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.14(\mathrm{syst})]%$. This is the single most precise measurement of this parameter, with uncertainties smaller than the current world average of $B$ factory measurements.

We present a measurement of the ratio of events with correlated t and tbar spins to the total number of ttbar events. This ratio f is evaluated using a matrix-element-based approach in events with a single lepton (electron or muon) and at least four jets. We analyze ppbar collisions data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.3 fb^-1 collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider operating at a center of mass energy $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV. Combining this result with a recent measurement of f in dilepton final states, we find f in agreement with the standard model. In addition, the combination provides evidence for the presence of spin correlation in ttbar events with a significance of more than three standard deviations.

We present a measurement of the electron charge asymmetry in $p\bar{p}\rightarrow W+X \rightarrow e\nu +X$ events at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, using data corresponding to 9.7~fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The asymmetry is measured as a function of the electron pseudorapidity and is presented in five kinematic bins based on the electron transverse energy and the missing transverse energy in the event. The measured asymmetry is compared with next-to-leading-order predictions in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and provides accurate information for the determination of parton distribution functions of the proton. This is the most precise lepton charge asymmetry measurement to date.

We measure the mass of the top quark in lepton+jets final states using the full sample of $p\bar{p}$ collision data collected by the D0 experiment in Run~II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at $\sqrt s=1.96~$TeV, corresponding to $9.7~{\rm fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. We use a matrix element technique that calculates the probabilities for each event to result from $t\bar t$ production or background. The overall jet energy scale is constrained in situ by the mass of the $W$ boson. We measure $m_t=174.98\pm0.76~{\rm GeV}$. This constitutes the most precise single measurement of the top-quark mass.

We report evidence for the simultaneous production of $J/\psi$ and $\Upsilon$ mesons in 8.1 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected at $\sqrt{s}=$1.96 TeV by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab $p \bar p$ Tevatron Collider. Events with these characteristics are expected to be produced predominantly by gluon-gluon interactions. In this analysis, we extract the effective cross section characterizing the initial parton spatial distribution, $\sigma_{eff}=2.2\pm 0.7\mbox{(stat)} \pm 0.9 \mbox{(syst)} ~\mbox{mb}$.

Tevatron Run II combination of the effective leptonic electroweak mixing angle
Drell-Yan lepton pairs produced in the process $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{\ensuremath{-}}+X$ through an intermediate ${\ensuremath{\gamma}}^{*}/Z$ boson have an asymmetry in their angular distribution related to the spontaneous symmetry breaking of the electroweak force and the associated mixing of its neutral gauge bosons. The CDF and D0 experiments have measured the effective-leptonic electroweak mixing parameter ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\mathrm{eff}}^{\mathrm{lept}}$ using electron and muon pairs selected from the full Tevatron proton-antiproton data sets collected in 2001-2011, corresponding to $9--10\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of integrated luminosity. The combination of these measurements yields the most precise result from hadron colliders, ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\mathrm{eff}}^{\mathrm{lept}}=0.23148\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.00033$. This result is consistent with, and approaches in precision, the best measurements from electron-positron colliders. The standard model inference of the on-shell electroweak mixing parameter ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{W}$, or equivalently the $W$-boson mass ${M}_{W}$, using the zfitter software package yields ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{W}=0.22324\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.00033$ or equivalently, ${M}_{W}=80.367\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.017\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/{c}^{2}$.

Using data collected by the CLEO II detector, we have observed two states decaying to ${\ensuremath{\Lambda}}_{c}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. Relative to the ${\ensuremath{\Lambda}}_{c}^{+}$, their mass splittings are measured to be $+307.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.4\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.0$ and $+342.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.5\mathrm{MeV}{/c}^{2}$, respectively; this represents the first measurement of the less massive state. These two states are consistent with being orbitally excited, isospin zero ${\ensuremath{\Lambda}}_{c}^{+}$ states.

In a sample of $6.6\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ produced $B$ mesons we have observed decays $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}K$, with branching fractions $B({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}{K}^{+})\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}({6.5}_{\ensuremath{-}1.4}^{+1.5}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.9)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5}$ and $B({B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}{K}^{0})\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}({4.7}_{\ensuremath{-}2.0}^{+2.7}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.9)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5}$. We have searched with comparable sensitivity for 17 related decays to final states containing an $\ensuremath{\eta}$ or ${\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ meson accompanied by a single particle or low-lying resonance. Our upper limits for these constrain theoretical interpretations of the $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}K$ signal.

Limits on the ultra-high energy electron neutrino flux from the RICE experiment
Upper limits are presented on the diffuse flux of ultra-high energy νe, based on analysis of data taken by the RICE experiment during August, 2000. The RICE receiver array at South Pole monitors cold ice for radio-wavelength Cherenkov radiation resulting from neutrino induced in-ice showers. For energies above 1 EeV, RICE is an effective detector of over 15 km3 sr. Potential signal events are separated from backgrounds using vertex location, event reconstruction, and signal shape. These are the first terrestrial limits exploiting the physics of radio-Cherenkov emissions from charged current νe+N→e+N′ interactions.

We report a new measurement of the pseudorapidity (eta) and transverse-energy ( E(T)) dependence of the inclusive jet production cross section in pp(macro) collisions at square root of s = 1.8 TeV using 95 pb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The differential cross section d(2)sigma/(dE(T)d eta) is presented up to eta = 3, significantly extending previous measurements. The results are in good overall agreement with next-to-leading order predictions from QCD and indicate a preference for certain parton distribution functions.

We have measured the B0B¯0 mixing probability, χd, using a sample of 965 000 BB¯ pairs from Υ(4S) decays. Counting dilepton events, we find χd=0.157±0.016±0.018−0.021+0.028. Using tagged B0 events, we find χd=0.149±0.023±0.019±0.010. The first (second) error is statistical (systematic). The third error reflects a ±15% uncertainty in the assumption, made in both cases, that charged and neutral B pairs contribute equally to dilepton events. The decay ${D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{e}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e}$ has been studied in the Fermilab photoproduction experiment E691. The ratio of branching ratios, $\frac{B({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{K}}^{*0}{e}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e})}{B({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})}$, is found to be 0.49\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.04 \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05, corresponding to a ${D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{K}}^{*0}{e}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e}$ branching ratio of (4.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.7\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.5)%. The branching ratio to the nonresonant ${({K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})}_{\mathrm{NR}}e{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e}$ final state is found to be less than 0.7% at the 90% confidence level. The ${\overline{K}}^{*0}$ mesons have a ratio of longitudinal to transverse polarization of 2.4${\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}_{0.9}^{1.7}$\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.2.

A search for pair production of doubly-charged Higgs bosons in the process p pbar to H++H-- to mu+mu+mu-mu- is performed with the D0 Run II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The analysis is based on a sample of inclusive di-muon data collected at an energy of sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 113 pb-1. In the absence of a signal, 95 % confidence level mass limits of M(H++L)>118.4 GeV/c2 and M(H++R)>98.2 GeV/c2 are set for left-handed and right-handed doubly-charged Higgs bosons, respectively, assuming 100% branching into muon pairs.

Limits are set on ${B}^{0}$B${\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}}^{0}$ mixing by use of dilepton events from \ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S) decay. On the assumption that the charged- and neutral-B semileptonic branching ratios are equal and that 41% of the B mesons from the \ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S) are neutral, a 90%-confidence-level upper limit of 24% is set on ${B}^{0}$B${\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}}^{0}$ mixing. Limits are also given for the ratio of the lifetimes of neutral and charged B mesons. The 90%-confidence-level limits are 2.05.

We present a measurement of the electron charge asymmetry in pp[over ]-->W+X-->enu+X events at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV using 0.75 fb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The asymmetry is measured as a function of the electron transverse momentum and pseudorapidity in the interval (-3.2, 3.2) and is compared with expectations from next-to-leading order calculations in perturbative quantum chromodynamics. These measurements will allow more accurate determinations of the proton parton distribution functions.

We present new measurements of differential cross sections for Z/γ∗(→μμ)+jet+X production in a 1 fb−1 data sample collected with the DØ detector in pp¯ collisions at s=1.96TeV. Results include the first measurements differential in the Z/γ∗ transverse momentum and rapidity, as well as new measurements differential in the leading jet transverse momentum and rapidity. Next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions are compared to the measurements, and reasonable agreement is observed, except in the region of low Z/γ∗ transverse momentum. Predictions from two event generators based on matrix elements and parton showers, and one pure parton shower event generator are also compared to the measurements. These show significant overall normalization differences to the data and have varied success in describing the shape of the distributions.

We present the first experimental discrimination between the 2e/3 and 4e/3 top quark electric charge scenarios, using top quark pairs (tt¯) produced in pp¯ collisions at s=1.96 TeV by the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We use 370 pb−1 of data collected by the D0 experiment and select events with at least one high transverse momentum electron or muon, high transverse energy imbalance, and four or more jets. We discriminate between b- and b¯-quark jets by using the charge and momenta of tracks within the jet cones. The data are consistent with the expected electric charge, |q|=2e/3. We exclude, at the 92% C.L., that the sample is solely due to the production of exotic quark pairs QQ¯ with |q|=4e/3. This Letter presents the first strong evidence for the resolution of the excited $B$ mesons ${B}_{1}$ and ${B}_{2}^{*}$ as two separate states in fully reconstructed decays to ${B}^{+(*)}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. The mass of ${B}_{1}$ is measured to be $5720.6\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.4\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.4\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$ and the mass difference $\ensuremath{\Delta}M$ between ${B}_{2}^{*}$ and ${B}_{1}$ is $26.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}3.1\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.9\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$, giving the mass of the ${B}_{2}^{*}$ as $5746.8\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.4\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.7\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$. The production rate for ${B}_{1}$ and ${B}_{2}^{*}$ mesons is determined to be a fraction $(13.9\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.9\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}3.2)%$ of the production rate of the ${B}^{+}$ meson.

Measurement of the Lifetime of the<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msubsup><mml:mi>B</mml:mi><mml:mi>c</mml:mi><mml:mo>±</mml:mo></mml:msubsup></mml:math>Meson in the Semileptonic Decay Channel
Using approximately 1.3 fb(-1) of data collected by the D0 detector between 2002 and 2006, we measure the lifetime of the Bc+/- meson in the Bc-/+-->J/psimicro+/-+X final state. A simultaneous unbinned likelihood fit to the J/psi+micro invariant mass and lifetime distributions yields a signal of 881+/-80(stat) candidates and a lifetime measurement of tau(Bc+/-)=0.448(-0.036)(+0.038)(stat)+/-0.032(syst) ps.

We present a search for the pair production of scalar top quarks, t˜, using 995 pb−1 of data collected in pp¯ collisions with the DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at s=1.96TeV. Both scalar top quarks are assumed to decay into a charm quark and a neutralino (χ˜10), where χ˜10 is the lightest supersymmetric particle. This leads to a final state with two acoplanar charm jets and missing transverse energy. We find the yield of such events to be consistent with the standard model expectation, and exclude sets of t˜ and χ˜10 masses at the 95% C.L. that substantially extend the domain excluded by previous searches.

We present a measurement of direct photon pair production cross sections using 4.2 fb-1 of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron proton-antiproton Collider. We measure single differential cross sections as a function of the diphoton mass, the transverse momentum of the diphoton system, the azimuthal angle between the photons, and the polar scattering angle of the photons, as well as the double differential cross sections considering the last three kinematic variables in three diphoton mass bins. The results are compared with different perturbative QCD predictions and event generators.

From an analysis of the decay B0s→J/ψϕ, we obtain the width difference between the light and heavy mass eigenstates ΔΓ≡(ΓL−ΓH)=0.17±0.09(stat)±0.02(syst) ps−1 and the CP-violating phase ϕs=−0.79±0.56(stat)+0.14−0.01(syst). Under the hypothesis of no CP violation (ϕs≡0), we obtain 1/¯¯¯Γ=¯τ(B0s)=1.52±0.08(stat)+0.01−0.03(syst) ps and ΔΓ=0.12+0.08−0.10(stat)±0.02(syst) ps−1. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of about 1.1 fb−1 accumulated with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We present a study of the polarization of the Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) states using a 1.3 fb−1 data sample collected by the D0 experiment in 2002–2006 during run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We measure the polarization parameter α=(σT−2σL)/(σT+2σL), where σT and σL are the transversely and longitudinally polarized components of the production cross section, as a function of the transverse momentum (pΥT) for the Υ(1S) and Υ(2S). Significant pΥT-dependent longitudinal polarization is observed for the Υ(1S). Search for Long-Lived Charged Massive Particles with the D0 Detector
We search for long-lived charged massive particles using $1.1\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron $p\overline{p}$ Collider. Time-of-flight information is used to search for pair produced long-lived tau sleptons, gauginolike charginos, and Higgsino-like charginos. We find no evidence of a signal and set 95% C.L. cross section upper limits for staus, which vary from 0.31 to 0.04 pb for stau masses between 60 and 300 GeV. We also set lower mass limits of 206 GeV (171 GeV) for pair produced charged gauginos (Higgsinos).

Search for<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msup><mml:mi>W</mml:mi><mml:mo>′</mml:mo></mml:msup></mml:math>Boson Resonances Decaying to a Top Quark and a Bottom Quark
We search for the production of a heavy W′ gauge boson that decays to third generation quarks in 0.9 fb−1 of pp¯ collisions at s=1.96 TeV, collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We find no significant excess in the final-state invariant mass distribution and set upper limits on the production cross section times branching fraction. For a left-handed W′ boson with SM couplings, we set a lower mass limit of 731 GeV. For right-handed W′ bosons, we set lower mass limits of 739 GeV if the W′ boson decays to both leptons and quarks and 768 GeV if the W′ boson decays only to quarks. Search for Large Extra Dimensions via Single Photon plus Missing Energy Final States at<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msqrt><mml:mi>s</mml:mi></mml:msqrt><mml:mo>=</mml:mo><mml:mn>1.96</mml:mn><mml:mtext> </mml:mtext><mml:mtext> </mml:mtext><mml:mi>TeV</mml:mi></mml:math>
We report on a search for large extra dimensions in a data sample of approximately 1 fb−1 of p¯p collisions at √s=1.96 TeV. We investigate Kaluza-Klein graviton production with a photon and missing transverse energy in the final state.
