The Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC) publishes high-quality research that aims to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that underpin biological activities. Papers published in JBC can thus be classified not just as biological chemistry, chemical biology, or biochemistry, but also as biophysics, systems biology, RNA biology, immunology, microbiology, neuroscience, epigenetics, computational biology, 'omics, and many other disciplines. JBC is genuinely a melting pot for scientists across disciplines as a result of our focus on publications that bring fresh and important mechanistic insights rather than a specific issue area. In addition, JBC invites papers that present methodologies that will aid scientists in moving forward with their biochemical investigations, as well as resources that will benefit the scientific community.
